My first question is: Does anyone know the history of the Model "S" Electrolux? Also, does anyone know the identity of the model that was made with a cord halo like an "RC", but had a molded black cord like an "S"?
Any info, dates, concomitant models from Lux at the time etc.
Thanks.

The Model S was made from 1957-1960 I believe. The model with the halo could be a few models. The Model E (not the automatic) had a black molded cord with a halo. Also, the halo was available on the model R, which is quite similar to the model S. Heres a picture of the model E.

Rick:

What are you using to paint your restored vacs with?

Your restorations are always free of the biggest problem seen with many restorations today - too much gloss on the paint. Today's paints are not the same as those used years ago, and they're intended to give mirror gloss that was not easy to achieve back in the day.

Your vacs are always perfect - restored exactly like original, but not a hint of over-restoration.

Thanks very much and those are some beautiful Luxes! The "mystery" model I'm seeking has the same apearance as the model RC but the cord is molded like the S. It is blue and grey, has a removable, side latches front, silver halo, no PN plug in and cord is molded on. Looks kinda like an S with a halo. Mom had one but I didn't know what it was. It is light blue and grey similar in colour to the AF but not automatic. Front just like the S or RC.

Yes, I to would like to know what kind of paint you use. My model 86 is in terrible cosmetic condition, and I would like to paint it. Any help on this would be great!

Thanks,
Daniel :)

looks like S with halo

Could this be an S after rebuilding either by major company such as Metropolitan or even local vac store with supply of spray paint?I have seen generic halo added to S or other Lux models that might have cordwinder removed.
