Is this the economy model sold as an acquaintance to the Models:
G
1205
Golden Jubilee (1210)
Super J

Or is this a model sold between the higher-end models' changes?

btw, here's some photos of mine

Torquise Model L

What a great machine, have had at least 2 of them over the years. It was the "Budget" model "L" which went with the 1205, starting in the late 60's, then
evolving in basicly color only. As Lux went to the 50th anv. model, biege and tan. the L went to a beige color. then as the Super J came out things did not
change much on the L. I think the Gold one was next, but can not remember the
Reg. Model lux that it was the budget to? Someone help me out or correct me if
I am wrong on the order of evolvment. The L ended when the new plastic body machines came out. The Ambasitor, Model 90, and so on, were made in the Georgia
plant. The early ones, sold for awhile at Catalog Discount Retail stores. Like
Service Merchandise here in Ohio area. They had the same hose connection to the
machine that the Canadian models had. I have two of the plastic case ones that I
have used for at least 10 years. Great suction with New Hoses, of course.

Close-up of bag compartment; nice & clean. :)

I just wish Electrolux put motor filter in case the bag bursts!

However, the motor also looks very clean, too.

Top of cleaner. What does the clip behind handle do? Does it hold the crevice tool? I know the clip on front holds the small combo duster tool.

Now my 1205 has its economy "companion" cousin, the model L. The only thing I need is the CB commercial/industrial vacuum.

Automatic cord winder

Can I have one (if anyone is willing to part with a turquoise one)

Norm, thanks for the info. I had no idea the Model L was made for a long time.

Hi Floor-a-Matic! The clip behind the handle on your Model L is for holding the plug end of the cord. The automatic control dial isn't missing, the L's didn't have them. It would also have had the same tools, wands, and PN as the 1205, with the hose also being the same except for the machine end. My Grandparents had that same color of L for many years, great little vacuum. Enjoy, Toby G.

Hi guys:

If memory serves correctly there were 4 versions of the L

The first was white with teal trim and was out with the teal model G

The second was tan with brown trim and out with the brown model G

The third was blue with white trim and was out with both the 1205 and the Golden J

The last was gold with white trim and was out with the Super J

Collector2 is right.Model L always had pn outlet for optional nozzle.Went from metal to plastic bag housing as it evolved. Was known as worlds lightest weight heavy duty vacuum.I use one frequently. Was also available during the Silverado period as a factory rebuilt along with G and 1205.The vac was rebuild in currant colors, metal tag riveted on,and packed with new hose and atts.Your cw probably wont work because of needing square plug for back of L.I have a blue cw but seems to have at least spring problem.I will take closer look to see if is fixable while you decide if you want your L to be bigger and heavier. The L was replaced with brown Special about 1980 continuing linup of both deluxe automatic and standard nonautomatic. Both having same hose and atts.

The cord winder pictured above will not fit your Model L. There are two screws on each side that hold the cord winder in place. To install a cord winder you simply removed the halo, and put the cord winder in its place.

Nice model L by the way. I enjoy using both of mine.

Sometimes the motor sounds like its slowing down, then reverts to normal speed. What could the problem be?

The handle is broken halfway; hopefully they're still available?

A few more pics

With the aqua tools (Came from my parents' 1205; which is now a parts machine for the other 1205)

The new white combo duster tool (has a grey "donut" center instead of periwinkle, which I wanted) is the one I use now; the turquoise tools are just for display only)

All I'm waiting for is a white or periwinkle blue crevice tool.

Rug/floor flip tool

Brush side. Bristles VERY worn. My family has been using the CRAP out of those turquoise tools! :P

Well, those tools will be put away for display purposes only due to:
Combo rug/floor tool's bristles worn
Rug/floor tool starting to get fine cracks on plastic body
Combo duster/upholstery tool's rubber "donut" torn & starting to flake
Combo duster tool's bristles worn too.

Close-up of hose

Pistol grip handle. Swivels a full 360 degrees & has SLIDING relief vent :)

I prefer the sliding vent over the "screw-type" vent like the Genuine Electrolux electrified hoses have.

"OH my vacuum is so much more powerful with the new hose!" :)

That's normal, Erik

The model L is the economy model to the G etc and does not have a switch interlock or there would be some sort of sprung metal tab or rod on the door's upper trim edge, adjacent to the latch, engaged by the bag gasket. Also the switch is in back over the motor exhaust and is a sideways slider, unlike the G etc rocker switches easy to connect to a long trigger rod.

Electrified hose

Its a shame I can't find a Lux hose w/pigtail that has on/off switch AND swivels! Either it swivels & does NOT have switch; OR it has a switch & NOT swivel. :(

Hopefully, I'll be able to find a pistol grip that swivels & w/switch & sliding suction control.

Something like this on handle end.
