Electrolux Model G?

Ok, I made an offer on an Electrolux Model G with a power nozzle yesterday on Ebay and I got the vacuum.

The pictures are not great, but it shows a brown Electrolux with what appears to be a PN-2....

But it also shows what looks like the chrome cord wrapper on the exhaust end, I thought G's all had auto cord winders?

That's.....

not a G and that's fraud. Whether the sellers knew that or not is irrelevant. Take your complaint to PayPal and tell them you did not receive what was described in the auction....you will get a full refund. Takes time, but you'll get it. They will want that you tried to negotiate a settlement with the seller first. Only correspond with him through ebay for the record.

Yes this is going to be interesting, I kind of knew it was not a G due to no cord winder and bumpers etc......and I even asked and got this response.

I agree with Richard. It is an rebuilt Electrolux Af (or possibly AE) The plate attached by the switch will give the details. Given that the plate is there, the colour and the attachments with it it is an Electrolux company rebuild.

The switch is the giveaway.

I don't believe any of the L's had that switch.

Also, I have never seen a rebuilt G with the chrome powerhead, they were generally the painted brown like the machine.

I got the "G" Electrolux today, perhaps it's Frankenlux?

Any ideas on just what I got?

Electrolux Strange Looking Model G

Ok, I can supply more pictures if need be, but what exactly is this vacuum? I can hardly fault the Ebay Seller as it does state that it is a MODEL G on the frame.

To me it looks like this Model E that is currently posted on Ebay, perhaps with a Model G model plate/metal ring around the bag chamber. Maybe this could've happened when it was rebuilt.

It is definitely a factory rebuild, because of the builder's plate that's riveted to the side.  So I wonder if some parts got switched in the process.  It looks like some G series parts are interchangeable with earlier AF/AE models.

From what I have been told when the rebuilds were being done in the factory a bunch were taken appart all at once the good parts kept, repainted, then machines assembled from the pile of parts. Its quite possible that it ended up with parts from a F and G together.

rebuilt E-F-G ?

Many parts would interchange as above.The G had unique bumpers and cordwinder.The brown colors and hose date this to about 1980 as it would have been painted to match the Olympia line.The cord,hose and attachments would have been brand new at the time and same atts as Special or Olympia.Everything else would have been rebuilt or replaced to new condition.This was one of the last factory rebuilts.I beleive the HPR(High Performance Rebuilt) of the Diamond Jubilee days was last.This is a great vac if in good condition and fixable if not.Have you tried it yet?How do you like your E-F-G?
