Nice find!

A little cleaning and polishing will do wonders. How does it run? The hose does not appear to be original, but who cares as long as it's functional, right?

Nice Find Ray!

I've never seen a XXX with the logo stamped in the wands. It will look beautiful with a little polishing. I'll bet it runs great too! Did you get a full set of attachments with it? Congrats on a great find!

I haven't seen the logo on a XXX wand since my grandmother's. I thought maybe my memory wasn't serving me well! Good to know that I didn't imagine it! I do remember she hated that rug tool. She used to use her Bissell Grand Rapids over her wool area rugs first to get the lint, etc., then follow with the XXX getting the dust out. She was not a fan of uprights. When we went for a vist to the country, it was my duty to throw our Kirby in the trunk, so I could give her rugs a proper vacuuming. Ah memories....

Cleaned the 30 last night, got the motor out, it's interesting that the motor is very similar to the Model 12 motor. Carefully took the lead seal out of the motor so I could get the fan housing apart then cleaned the fans. Saved the lead motor seal. Cleaned and repaced the bearings, crazy glued the pieces of one of the bakelite suspension spacers back together and put it back in place. Replaced the handle and put everything back together.

Then at 12:30 in the morning I made a couple of new filters. Still need to get a couple of dents out of the trim.

The hose is on it's way out, it still holds suction but the inside of the hose is now ending up in the bag.

Filter

Very nice recreation of that filter. My local dealer does not seem to stock them for my '37 model 30 anymore, either!!!

I reply: My grandparents had an Electrolux almost just like this one and the sled rails never left any scratches on their wood floors.

Ended up replacing the bearings in the motor this evening, so the motor isn't as loud as before.

It's so nice when you have the original Electrolux tools to get the bearings off and put the new bearings on. The front bearing seater is really nice, you put the back bearing cover on, then the bearing, then screw the tool on to the armature, then just twist the outside of the tool and the bearing just slides down into place on the armature.
