My Electrolux Epic 2500 SR upright I purchased refurbished off Ebay a year ago will not turn on.
A few months after I got it the cord would have to be twisted at the top where it connects into the vacuum for the vacuum to start up but the strangest thing was that when it turned on it would not turn off, no matter what way you moved the cord now that it was on it would not turn off but the problem happened almost every time I turned it on. Of course now I can't find the seller I bought the vacuum from and am stuck using a pos Dirt Devil feather lite that goes through belts at about the same rate the bag fills up! I can't stand it stinking up my house with the burnt belt odor anymore!
So, yesterday I had a woman from Aerus come look at the vacuum and she said it was most likely electrical or it could be the motor and at first I thought there was no way it was the motor but now that I think about it the motor always kind of had a lower sound (if that makes sense) than most Electrolux uprights I had used before.
So my question to you guys is...do you think this is a motor problem or a problem with the cord? All I know is one day I went to turn it on and nothing happened, no matter what way I twisted the cord. I would also like to know what the pricing would be on a new motor if that was the problem...Any help would be appreciated!
