Electrolux display at the Museum of Vacuums

As part of my "Wall of Fame", and because we sell brand new Aerus Electrolux cleaners, I put up a display of my all time favorite Electrolux cleaners. Throughout the Museum are Electrolux cleaners, but my favorites I put in the Wall of Fame section.

The Automatic F

This cleaner belonged to my dear Aunt, and it was the first Electrolux I ever saw. She had a cedar closet the box and machine were stored in. Everything is original, even the hose. Tight and holds air. My all time favorite model.

The Model L

This cleaner was purchased by a neighbor in 1968. I was six. In 1970, her husband got a new job in California - and they bought a house with central vac. She gave this (at that time) 2 year old cleaner to me. I was 8 when I got it. It has the pistol grip electric hose and telescopic electric wand. She didn't but the cord winder because it made the cleaner too heave. I never saw her use it while it was sitting on its wheels. She carried it, with the hose wrapped around her back. I have kept it in a "time machine" for the past 49 years. It's still like she gave it to me, and the hose is sealed and holds air tight.

The bronze Model G

This is the 1967 model G Electrolux in bronze. This cleaner, with its original box, was a gift from Alex Braun. If it was used 5 times, that's a lot. I have wanted this cleaner from the day he bought it at an Estate sale. He surprised me with it recently and I LOVE IT. It has the matching power nozzle as well. The hose is perfect and sealed tight as a drum.

Made in Sweden - 1931 model 12

The 1931 Model 12, made in Sweden. It was this model that was aboard a ship from Sweden that sank - causing Electrolux to build their American factory. And the rest is history.

Thanks for the pictures and showing the original boxes.
That was quite a step forward when they introduced the "automatic" stop and open feature and brought out the flip/over rug tool and dual purpose sofa/dusting brush.

The museum is looking better and better.These are great vacs with features and quality you can't find today.(I sold a G with PN yesterday to a customer who regretted not bringing her old one when she moved nearby.)My first thought here is -these are like new museum quality vacs.My second thought is-what if they fall off the shelf onto a wheel.Even if a careless customer doesn't push one what about weather or a small earthquake shaking one?As this remains a work in progress you may be adding something under/around wheels.Maybe like a rubber cup for front wheels of Kirby using HandiButler.

I absolutely love mhy Electrolux 1205 and my Olympia, great machines. Love the motor sound on both of those, a nice two stage motor. Did they have central vacuums in the 1970's? I guess they did but they were probably rare.

You're welcome, Elliot. During that era Electrolux Corporation took to using letters from the main descriptors of its cleaners as model IDs; 'T' stood for 'Thrift'. It sold for a short time in 1956 and 1957 and was designed in a very simple, economical way; using some overstock parts from retired models or just odds and ends.

Btw, I read that the "Type 7" (aka Model VII) was made and marketed in Germany.
