If it says « Electrolux »
Since it says Electrolux out of Bristol, Virginia then it’s the US Electrolux product and is pre 2003 when the Electrolux name was changed to Aerus. That much I can tell you from the picture you provided so far.
The US Electrolux brand name was bought by the European Electrolux company when Eureka owned it and wanted to sell their vacuums here in the US. Since they were the original company and the US company spawned off of them back in the 1930s they became two separate companies over time developing their products differently. But when Eureka wanted to sell their Electrolux brand product here they bought the US companies name to avoid confusion of two different products by the same name and different companies and the US companies name was changed to Aerus,LLC. Officially in 2003. The European Electrolux not only sold canisters and uprights here in the US, but also central systems and they still sell refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers here in the US but have left the US vacuum cleaner market in the last few years, but you don’t have their product.
Anyway, I provide this information to you so that you understand that while vacuum cleaning products by the name of Electrolux are no longer sold in the US at this time by either company, the product you have is actually still sold and serviced by the same company, but with a new name on it so that you know it’s not a discontinued or defunct company or product. Just know that you have an « Aerus Electrolux » product and all needs for it can be addressed by Aerus. They still support the product you have and manufacture it and it’s parts.
I don’t believe the product has changed much so if you are needing a manual, you can go to
Www.aerushome.com and lookup the manuals and it should be very close in design to the Aerus centralux which is the current name.
You should Know that the unit has a foam filter inside that should be cleaned periodically so if you are experiencing poor suction this may be a cause. There are no bags to change, just dump the canister periodically and wash the filter, allow to dry, then put it back together and it should work like new.
Your local Aerus dealer will be able to service the product if needed or get you any replacement parts or attachments or you may wish to inquire about additional accessories available which you may not already have. My Sister has one of these in her home and since it’s three story, chose to buy an extra hose and tools for the second level and the Aerus store was very helpful.
Additional photos of everything that came with the system may help us to better give you a date range on the product as accessories changed design and colors over the years. But ultimately, your local Aerus Electrolux dealer probably installed it and can give you the « in service » date. I’m guessing this was already in a home you’ve purchased.
Hope all of this helps, Jon
