I have an Electrolux B-6 floor polisher that is in great condition--has 2 sets of brushes--but the belt is worn out/stretched. Does anyone have any idea where I could find a replacement belt???

I used to have one of those beasts and found that there's an identical polisher called "The Viking" made in Sweden. It has a serpentine belt very similar to the ones used in automobiles except that it's flat and about an inch wide. But is does wind around the three brushes in an intriguing way -- and you have to get it on right or the brushes won't spin correctly.

The last time I checked, you could still get belts for the Viking; granted, that's been a few years. I can dig in my files and see if I can find the info on the Viking machine if you want.

Here's a B6 Youtube vid that was recently posted by Mario Perez:

Translated title and description from Portuguese to English:

"Electrolux Floor Polisher and Wax Year 1950 Blumenau

"In order not to give a very long video, I only used the felt discs to eliminate the classic "waves" formed by the bristle brushes after the filming. However, wax quality is approved after a laborious waste of old acrylic waxes that compromised the gloss.
Original peroba floor in a 1935 house, polyurethane varnish applied in 1984."

Fyi ... The USA imported the Model B6 from Sweden in the 1950s prior to manufacturing its own Model B-7 in 1959. I've never seen a B6 advertised in an instruction manual, so promoting them was likely left to the salespersons.
