Electrolux AP100 PN Not Working

So I found an old PN on the side of the road a few days ago that went with the AP 100. I brought it home and checked it out. It's in Okay condition considering how old it is. The brush roll was kind of stuck, thinking that it was sized I took it apart and started working on it. Turns out that the brush roll nor the motor was sized but just a massive amount of hair prevented it from turning. After cleaning it, I put it back together and connected it to the vacuum. It did not work, no noise no nothing! There was nothing preventing it from working. I contented it to my Super J, and again nothing. Tried the "Reset" button but it did not work. Connected the cord from the PN to the hose handle, and it did not work. So is this thing just dead or is there some secrete to using this thing? Is there anything I can do to *Jump Start* it? Thanks...

Sounds like the motor is fried

Hang on. Do you have a VOM (volt-ohm meter)? If so, test your wands just to be sure you have power at the bottom of the wand, remove the cover from the floor brush so you have access to the power connections to the motor and then use the VOM to test whether you have power to the motor. If you do, then you can suspect the motor. If not, trace the wiring back and see where the break in the wire is or to see if the overload protection(reset button) is malfunctioning. Test that you have power into and out of the overload protection.

On my Electrolux floor brush I had a similar situation and it turned out to be a wire in the swivel neck was cut. Easy fix. Don't assuume the motor is bad without some testing.

Or, perhaps the circuit breaker needs to be replaced.

Or-maybe the circuit breaker needs to be reset-press its button and see if the nozzle works.

I would check the receptacle end on the power nozzle cord, that plugs into the plug on top & is held in place with the metal cover. Perhaps the receptacle on the cord is burned out?? If so, it's a cheap fix, under $15 dollars CDN thru most vac shops.
