Hey Keith! That’s a really nice one. Love the Canadian luxes! Would love to find an AP100 or AP200 in mint condition like that! Any suggestions how to come across one in such great condition?I was informed that this Canadian model Electrolux was one of the first plastic models manufactured in 1974. I snapped it up through an estate sale broker for $25.00

I have the Electrolux AP100 but the second edition. Where the power nozzle in the 1st is PN V and the second is PN 100. In the 1st version, there was a power trigger control to turn power nozzle off and on. on the handgrip. The second version, which is what i have, got rid of that feature. They brought it back in the AP280 series. The instruction manuals are a little different. They have same lady demonstrating the operation of machine, and they changed pictures to upgrade to new version of power nozzle and handgrip. Otherwise it's the same AP100 model. i enjoy using it. nice and quiet. follows me around. i do wish my version had the trigger on the handgrip of hose to on and off power nozzle. i shut cleaner off. remove power nozzle to another tool like the swivel floor brush, then turn it on. the reason i do this if you just leave cleaner on, and take out the power nozzle plug that goes into bottom of wand area, the male prongs will shorten over time. i read this years ago, and i'm glad i did. I told my family member, it was different brand of vacuum, and the same thing happened the prongs would get shorter and shorter on the power nozzle cord, as the family member would just leave machine on and disconnect the power nozzle and do other things, like use the floor brush or just use the pipe end to clean behind furniture. I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone will look into it.Lesss ..lol..heyyy dude! Thx for the props! I will rub my magic lamp for you !
Wow! Only $25 and pristine. You must be living right. Just gorgeous.I was informed that this Canadian model Electrolux was one of the first plastic models manufactured in 1974. I snapped it up through an estate sale broker for $25.00

if it stop on contact with the area you need to clean then i would open it up and look for a new belt or maybe just needs cleaningI have the SideKick and it works great. I've used a similar type of attachment, same idea, on another model, but once you put the brushes against the area you need to clean, like carpeted stairs, for example, the brushes just stop moving. I guess it makes a good lawn ornament. lol oops!![]()
That is also true press gently yes do not cut off the air flow or suction of the machine let the air clean yesThe Sidekick as well as the dusting brush should not be used like a scrub brush. Just go over area lightly and let the air do the work. The harder you press down the less airflow that carries the dirt to the hose.
check your power nozzle brush roller if it spins by hand no need for oil if its tight and dirty clean try again only oil when nessaryWhen I use the sidekick I use it very gently back and forth, and it picks up just fine. You have to be in a relaxed state, just back and forth. Thank you for the tips. Silly question as I own a Singer 401A Sewing Machine where I have to oil the machine, but does one have to do any oiling to the bearings, or anything. I do to powerhead once in a blue moon, when i give it a good cleaning, I lube the ends. I don't know if i should be doing this or not to the vintage AP powerheads or not. I'm so glad I can come here, and get information. This is a wonderful site for good chat, and learning.
