Hi all I know I'm new here and not really into collecting vintage items however I am posting because my grandfather-in law recently passed and upon clearing his house he owned an Electrolux 345.

He was using it up to the day he died, it's a great machine...purrs well and still lifts the carpet when hoovering. There is nobody in the family that wants it and it seems such a shame because it works really well, looks beautiful and the wind in wire still works better than my modern dyson lol.

i would like it to go to a home that would appreciate it, I have no idea how much it's worth but if there is someone in the uk that is looking for such a machine and is willing to pay what they think its worth and delivery I would like to send it. I have posted an image of it and if anyone would like to message me I think they can pm me or my email is in my profile

Cheers

Omg I have been on the lookout for a 345 for about a year now. I'd love it, as I have the original hose for it, but I'm fairly certain that somebody else would pay more than me for it. I know you're not sure how much it's worth, but do you have at least a rough asking price for it?
Thanks

£50.00 I guess? That would cover delivery too, it's currently in kings Lynn and won't be bringing back up north until this Friday but if you would like it that would be great.

Cheers

On a romantic note, there were 4of us clearing his house yesterday and we all stood to admire it as it was pushed around hoovering up, I know companies like dyson have 'revolutionised' the Hoover world but the 345 ooses about as much sex appeal as a Hoover can...I bet in its day it was the thing to have and can certainly hold its own.....if you change your mind or have another figure in mind let me know

Hey Paul:

Just thought I'd mention that, while you are cleaning stuff out there, you should look for the instruction manual and the brush that fits on the crevice tool as well. They are probably around somewhere as it seems to have been kept in good shape. I've included a picture of my complete machine so you have an idea what the brush looks like that you would be looking for.

Thans Doug he was a very organised type of guy ( ex forces ) everything had a function and a place, everything that the Hoover had was kept with the Hoover ( that I pictured ) we have been through everything else but no manual or other attachments.

I'm more into cameras and I've been extremely fortunate enough to keep a few of his old rangefinders so I can appreciate the value of vintage items and complete sets.

sorry Thedysonman i have already made arrangements for another forum member to collect the 345 on friday from kings lynn....if it doesnt happen i will let you know

regards

paul
