Electrolux 2100

Thank you, Andy, for your help. After asking the question I later found an operating manual for the 2100 - copyright of the manual was 2002. You nailed it.

The Electrolux 2100 is listed (still) on a Craigslist. The funny thing is that it's been there for 16 days and the owner has yet to display ANY way to contact information in order to express interest. That may be good news, though. When they DO include contact information they will probably be inclined to lower the price because of how long it sat stagnant.
They're asking $145 or BO. If it's as pristine as it looks it might be worth something near that as a daily user.

Jasper,

I can attest to the daily driver sentiment 100%!!!!!

I personally feel this style of Aerus-Electrolux is about as close to modern-vac perfection as one can get. Fairly lightweight, powerful, decent filtration, reasonably quiet, and still has the "built like a tank" quality that Aerus-Electrolux built their company on.

I know that some of us are diehard metal Lux fans, but the plastic machines are (IMHO) much easier on the user. Still, I do LOVE my grandmother's Marquis and I have my great-grandmother's Model E and XXX (she loved her RCA Bambi though!). I used to have a Silverado, but stupidly sold it for parts when the carbons in the motor blew. I also have the Silverado Automatic Upright and LOVE it--definitely my favorite upright.

While the 2100 certainly ain't no 1205 or Model G, it's definitely worth getting if the price is right and it's in complete functional condition.
