They went on sale about 1986, initially one model only which I think was model 2010, but I could be wrong on that number. It was the range which replaced the 350, 350E, and exclusive models 347 & 351. The first 2000 cleaner had metal tubes. Once the 350 and 350E had officially finished, more models of the 2000 range went on sale, but with plastic tubes. Only the TOL remote control models had metal tubes. They came in 3-speed, variable speed with boost, and as I said remote control. I have it in mind that there were five cleaners in the finish, plus the one for the Electricity shops which was model 2000 and had no power control.
Despite replacing the 350 and 350E, there were exclusive models 349 and 1350E still on sale into the late 1980s and even the original green 350 went back on sale for a very short time, this time with a 900 watt motor and the new, soft-edge black wheels. The Dolphin replaced the 2000 series.
