Eggnog, anyone?

Ah...the aluminum tree!
My parents had them when I was very young.
Whenever the subject comes up, probably to this day, my mom recounts the story of how they HAD a color wheel...until I decided to try using it as a seat!
When I was old enough to be of some assistance in the set-up process, I remember I liked to help sort the branches by size.
If I recall correctly, they had different colored dots on the end of the branches, to help match up the like sizes.

mine has 97 branches

not 100, but 97. They are all the same, and come in little brown paper sleeves.I remember, on SUMMER, my sister and I were bored. So, we decided to put up the tree..... it was August!! "Mom" was NOT happy! Sam Addison just got a new color wheel on Amazon. I'm contemplating.......................

Eggnog is the best i usually just buy the non alcoholic stuff from the grocery store and then mix in some whiskey, rum or brandy or whatever i have that mixes well

@gottahaveahoove, you'll be glad you did. It's kind of fun having the option to use and you can use it in conjunction with what you would normally use. We were told not to put electric lights on the aluminum foil trees that were made of metal for obvious reasons. They later came out with trees that were reflective like the aluminum trees but made of something plastic I believe. Some people use two light wheels,one on each side, some mounted the wheel from above. My grandfather built a motorized tree stand for the aluminum tree so it would slowly turn. It worked well with the color wheel, changes your perception of the colors as they changed. Hard to explain but it worked. You can't use the motorized stand with a tree that has electric lights because the cord would get yanked as the tree revolved. Did anybody run a train around their tree? In grade school we all made paper chains from colored paper to bring home for the tree. Tinsel (sp?) after they made it lead free! Bubble lights used to present fire danger back when they were filled with colored alcohol, now they use water in them. If they made a set of lights with vacuum cleaners I'd buy them!

I put up 4 trees.

One is all bubble lights. People love them. My late cat, "Arthur", sat, mesmerized by the little bubbles, his head bobbing along in rhythm.

My cats were mesmerized by the percolating glass lights also. One thought the tree would make a nicely scented scratching post. Glad I was there to discourage any further use of said tree for that.One year I added Miracle Grow every time I filled the tree stand with water, just to see if it would help to keep the tree from dropping a lot of needles. Not only did it keep the tree fresh but the tree continued to sprout new growth at the ends if most branches, not as much as if it were still planted in the ground, but hey! I know they have products on the market made to be sprayed on to seal moisture in the tree as well.
