To me it is just plain inconvenient to have to pay up just to edit or delete a thread you created.

And even if I was a paying member, the time allowed to edit or delete threads you made is only six hours.

I am hoping to have infinite time (as a paying member) to edit or delete threads or replies to threads in the future. I would still hope to be given privileges to edit or delete threads in a 72-hour or so window as free members.

I did once share your opinion, but you must understand that this forum has to make enough money to cover the costs of keeping it online and a big part of the money (I would speculate) comes from subscription costs for upgrading membership and there has to be insentives for doing so.

As for the six hour limit, I think that is fair enough as you should notice and correct any mistakes by that time.

Jamie....

I couldn't said it better myself. It's enough that this is a free website to all, however for a nominal fee, you can contribute and enjoy the perks. Robert has put a lot of expertise and time into this forum, updates, features, and also the constant monitoring due to all the unnecessary drama, cattiness, pi**ing matches, etc. that goes on. I'm a single income collector with a mortgage and bills, and feel it is well worth the dollar a month to enjoy it to the fullest. I agree that six hours is plenty of time to go back and make any corrections, deletions, etc.

I would not mind a 12 Hour edit time maybee. I often post before I go to bed at night. I am normally very tired and that does not help my dislexia or the fact that my Samsungs s5 keypad is not designed for some one with Man sized fingers. Often I look the next day and I cringe when I see how badly I spelt words

On the paying to edit I think you should pay to be able to post. It hardly cost s anything. Infact a packet of Miele bags costs me more and that is with our horrific exchange rate to the dollar.
If you can spend fifty bucks every few months buyinv a thrift shop vacuum then you can pay your forum fees

Good grief!

It's only four dollars for 30 days of membership. Four dollars isn't going to make me or break me! That's the way I look at it!

Indeed Kenneth. I know I am scraping the bottom of the barrel at the moment, but even then £2.54 ($4) is still affordable. Hell, that is half the price of a bottle of wine and I can still afford plenty of those...

"How come they can buy vacuums ?"

Or pay their internet subscription for that matter.  I don't know about anybody else but I'm paying £7.50p/m for my internet (excluding line rental) so the Vacuum Land subscription is nothing in comparison.

In fact, the $12 fee for a year's subscription actually converts to £7.63 in Great British Pounds, therefore to subscribe to this forum for a year costs the same as than a month's internet.  Not bad at all, especially compared to some other forums.
