Not so fast boys, this was sold as a retractable extension cord in the 50's, if you look you can see that it is the same cordwinder used by Electrolux,made by Cordomatic.

This was the company that made the 'Cordeinder' for the models XXX (post war) LX, LXI, E and E automatic. They were out of Philly!

Seems to me it was the 'Vacuum cleaner Corp, of America' but don't quote me!
