EBay - Beautiful Eureka Princess - Very First Version!

Here is a sweet little Eureka Princess Model 500 Canister vac. This must be the very first Princess sold by Eureka as it sports a very early 1960's name-brand right above the hose port.

The square dusting brush is definitely a replacement...the original would have been round.

One day I'll dive in and register on EBay!!!

There is only a straight handle instead of curved on the end of the hose and the top wand is straight so that would have made it very awkward to use when vacuuming rugs and floors.

Which Princess came first? The ebay vacuum has a carry handle but no cord wrap? The POD I thought was the first? Gary, I agree about the straight hose end, probably entry level hose? I have seen the ebay listed Princess in person, it's very nice.

Yah...I saw that Gary. I should take a look at that famous print advertisement always offered on eBay to see if this is the right hose.

The ad does not show the handle....

You know, the cheaper version of Eureka's early stick vac also lacked a curved handle...it was straight as a broom. And I even think some later versions of the "turtle shell" Princess had that short uncurved hose handle....it IS strange.

I would guess the eBay version came first: it's model 500 with the plain handle and straight hose handle. The Vacuum of the Day with the cord storage handle is listed as Model 702.
