I want to know more about this model, I believe also reading it was functional too. It's the red and blue colored one, I'd say Circa 1980.

That's very interesting! It looks like James Dyson wanted to put the cyclones side by side, instead of the 2nd cyclone being inside the bin like he did with the Cyclon. And he didn't incorporate the powerhead yet, looks like it had a straight suction nozzle. Nice, but would have been too big and bulky for a person to use in their home.

That was the machine he drug with him to Hoover in Europe and all the European and American manufacturers, showing the prototype. The red and blue one. He even took it to Filter Queen where they made a dual cyclone canister prototype, but sadly did not use it because it would have eliminated the paper filter cone sales.

What a mistake filterqueen made.
You should've seen the machine. It was beautiful. Back in the old days, we had a vacuum cleaner convention every year. One year, we went to Kirby and filter queen. One of our members won a free defender air purifier in the raffle. We got to see the factory and how the machines are made. And we saw the prototypes Sitting around the chairs where the distributors would sit in the office at the factory during their meetings. In fact, they were sitting right outside the meeting room they took the vacuum club into. Of course the reason they didn't go with it was that only that they thought the clear dirt container looked dirty, but the revenue from the filter cone sales is really a huge part of their bottom line.
