The latest Dyson commercial on TV shows the small handheld unit while an English woman speaks in the back ground.
She states that.............
"There is only one draw back with the new dyson it may have to be emptied more often, sorry"

Rite on National Television Dyson admits to the Major flaw..!!!
Seriously Vacuum Fans what is wrong with this Picture.?

I consider empting a vacuum more often is a hassle not a convenience.
that's my 2 cents worth.

In this day and age convenience, more bells and whistles seems to be the norm with consumer goods. Correct me if I'm wrong..?

What they mean is that it is actually deep cleaning and picking up a lot, meaning you will have to empty it a lot...

Ummm...

It's marketing. They say you'll have to empty it more because it picks up more than your previous cleaner. In other words, it will pick up more debris from your carpet than other machines would, so you would empty the bin more often.

Never thought of it that way.

Because Dysons have to be emptied more often for them to work effeciently.

No.

All they are saying is that it will fill up and you will have to empty it a lot because you are picking a lot of dirt. You can fill up a Dyson to the top and still get constant airflow.

We still get people complaining about the fact that there bag less ( not just dyson but other brands to ) fills up to quickly, and that there must be something wrong with it , I have been so tempted to tell at least one person who's house I went to to see the problem that the actual problem was they were a bunch of filthy buggers nothing else. you couldn't vacuum more than a few meters and the vacuum was full. asked them what vacuum they had before this and got a a real shock , wal to wall carpeting and they said they never bothered with one before. this was in a middle class suburb , they drove a BMW 6 series for heavens sake but had never bothered with vacuuming

You have to remember people, a lot of people on this forum are either not intelligent enough to note quality advertising or have mental issues that do not allow them to understand the concepts behind advertising.

It was a great ad. You remembered the ad, as well as a lot of other people- it will sell vacuums.

The more Dysons sold in the BBS, the happier I am! Dyson repair pays both mortgages now each month.

Wasn't trying to be mean...it was a fairly hard commercial for some to get. There are some very smart people on this forum, but there are also a lot of people that I really wonder if there's much between the ears. Vacu-finder always has a great post and great information to share! I was just shocked by a lot of the replies on the thread.

Like I said in my post , stupidity never ceases to amaze me, IE today Electrolux powerglide ( eureka 3200series ) customer bought a new one this morning , brought it back today,

Customer Somethings wrong .. Its filling up with dirt to fast.

OK and ..

My old one didn't do that,

why did you replace your old one

Because it wasn't working properly

SO

Generally I am very patient person but I get so annoyed by things like this

While I don't think there is anything wrong with the ad, I don't think it's appropriate to insult the intelligence of other forum members. Chris, your posts have been inflammatory of late, I'm not sure it's the other people who have mental issues.

Chris, your posts have been inflammatory of late, I'm no

Ouch Bobby,

I guess my tolerance for stupidity is a little lower than others. I'll just refrain from contributing to anymore posts and let you guys misinform each other while the other vacuum clubs, dealer forums, and facebook groups make fun of you :-)!

This Video may not be the best in regards to performance or lack there of.

I have read tons of threads about Dysons on This site. Most people repeat the same thing about having to empty the bin often to achieve proper performance compared to most VacuumS..!

Well been a dyson Sales & repair agent  and having owned varoius models including a 14 year old dc14 owned since new , a 10 year old dc07 owned since new and many othere I can say that 90% of customer complaints are because they can't follow simple instructions properly and most cant use a vacuum properly either. This is evident in the amount of Kirby's and rainbows we see in for repair aswell. Most of the time its the customer.

What is wrong with emptying the drum after each use. I have been testing a miele s7000 that we are considering selling in our shop. The one thing I can't handle is how the machine starts to smell even with its charcoal filter after a few uses. Its just unhygenic to let the dust and dirt fester in the bag like that for a few weeks.

Just my take on things

Personally..

I think people think they lose performance because as you fill them they start to compact the dirt. (not as much as a bagged vacuum may I say) but they do. I think this leads people to think its not picking up as much, because they empty them revacuum an find more dust rolling round in the bin that's fluffy and not compacted.

Personally I prefer to empty regular anyway, I thought the whole point in cleaning is remove the muck from your home? But I get that people have busy lives and can't be bothered. As gsheen has said I also witnessed most problems being with the user. I have repaired many machines and can say that most problems are with the users lack of maintenance like over filling, not washing filters thoroughly or at all and not clearing the brushroll. I have never understood why people would pay so much for something and them not read instructions.. Or the stickers on the machines!

In my 18 years of using dysons I can honestly say the only time I have suffered lack of performance is when I have used them heavily to clean up after building work, or clean to clean out the fire..

I think the dc41 looks great, I can't wait to test out that active sole plate!!

Dysons work. Well. Period. (that's right, I said it!)
