I’m very disappointed to see that Dyson has not sorted out the problem with the weak design of the wheel housing. After only 1 year of ownership the wheel has snapped off my V15 Absolute!!!! I’m pretty annoyed as I don’t have a warranty on it either as it was swapped by Dyson due to an issue with the previous V15. This has really put me off them even more in addition to the issue I was having with the cleaner head randomly going off and when I release and press the trigger again it wouldn’t work for a few seconds. This is the SV47 so the latest V15 software etc. the Wash Filter message never came up despite the filter being clogged when it was due to wash it. This product has really disappointed me. I've already criticised Dyson on this issue in comments on your off-topic post here. It's irritating as hell and shouldn't happen, but a really minor issue that's so easily fixed, as I did with mine. You should still call them and complain politely. Share your experience with their customer service with the rest of us.

My god that axle is so tiny! It's less than the diameter of a pencil if I am seeing that right! That is a lot of pressure to put on that one tiny part, and the goofy disc wheel design only puts more pressure on it. I think every time you would roll those wheels back and forth it shoved off a nanometer of plastic from the axle shaft, then eventually you were left with nothing and then it snaps off. Reminds me of how the belt pulley can wear down on the motor shaft of the old Eurekas.
