I'm thinking of getting the hard for our laminate and tile floors, ie two bathrooms, one bedroom and one kitchen.
Especially the kitchen gets crumbs all over, so the cordless functionality is a plus.

Does anyone know if the Hard will accept a motorised head, such as from the DC44?

The answer to that is no! I don't think there is any power connectors on the inlet on the machine or the wand. Several members of the public have asked Dyson on there official Facebook page there response was its designed for hard floor pickup only.

Some users have asked about the hard floor tool being available on the DC44 but Dyson advised no due to the design of the inlet on the Dyson Hard has been strengthen to cope with extra pressure put on the head and machine for stubborn dirt!

Some people have complained you would have to buy 2 different Dyson cordless vacuums. A marketing ploy!? Some have said the machine head on the Hard doesn't pickup large spills or debris I assume due to the small air path channels in the head!?

I think there should of supplied supplied some floor tool for carpet use! You can use the hard floor tool
without the cleaning wipes on hard floors! Not sure if it would scratch your floors though! Shame they don't have reusable pads like the Vorwerks hard floor tool does!

Dyson said it would replace a mop & bucket. At least his promotional interview said one would normally vacuum a floor then put the cleaner away, then get a mop & bucket. He suggested his cleaner did all that. With one wet-wipe. I can't quite see how.
