Hiii I have a good Dyson DC25, and the head won't lock in place when I lift the machine, I called Dyson (Very nice people) and they said the Iron Swivel Lock arm needs to be replaced but when I looked at it there seemed to be nothing wrong. I looked at the cleaner support rod but surprise surprise nothing wrong.

Any suggestions?

Your lock arm is loose. If you look from the back of the machine on the right hand side you will see a black plastic arm. Yours will be loose. Some how and I have never figured out how or why the screw comes loose. Its fairly rare but I have seen it a few times. You need to remove one side of the ball shell 4 screws and then refit the screw into the arm.. Its spring loaded so be carfull.

Here is a pic of it loose and then of how it should be.
