Got this for £20 last night. Was £33. Motor was dead so I replaced it. A few hours later the machine was up and running. I really like it. Also replaced both belts in the clutch. Came with 2/4 of the tools. I had the rest.

Seanc: it's because the brush is not touching the carpet, so a new internal hose is needed. Or the brushbar was off maybe?
Fantomfam: thanks! I like it a lot :) I'm having my dc14 animal and origin for upstairs and downstairs vacuums :)
