Dyson Cinetic doesn't work well.

It would have been sensible for Dyson to put even a cheapo sponge in the motor inlet suction tube like what they did with Bissell Powerforce machines, or we can shove something like a sock up the inlet tube

Yes that would be a good idea. But it looks like more than just dust blowing back when emptying the bin this time Tayyab. It looks like dust escaping the cyclones.

Still, might get either this or the DC41 cos this one is 1300w and ill soon be rare when these get discontinued by 2017 when vacuums must be less than 900W

Large particles won't shouldn't pass through the shrowd that is true.

They really should change the following;
The motor suction must enter from the top of the cyclone like on the DC01 to DC33
Lift the filter up and make the cyclone tops lower so that the outside of the filter captures dirt, not the inside hence its easier to wash
This means that for grit to enter the motor, it must get past the sealed filter, which is virtually impossible. How hard is that?
It will also mean the tool storage will be higher aswell, unlike bending over for people with bad backs, bring back DC33/ DC27/ DC25 tool storage for this one, even the tool caddy cant even hold the stair tool properly, with the DC25 it clicks into place

Yh once again its to do with the emptying thing, my DC24 filter has loads of ssand and grit around the seal of the filter, and the grit is always at the bottom of the bin, right where the seal is, then it gets sucked into the motor. When I get mine I will wipe the seal and shove the uptake pipe when emptying it

The only way to be completely sure would be to fill the bin to Max line shove a sock up the inner tube so no dust can blow back and repeat this several times and then check to see if any dust is escaping the cyclones.

I like the Riccar Brilliance very much! But we are talking about the Dyson cinetic here Stan i've not had any issues with the Dyson DC41 MK2

Come on I like dyson as much as Mark or Pawrz whatever your username is (sorry ) but I have been sceptical about cinetic. The technology just is not there yet for filterless vacuum cleaners. Yes, Rainbows don't use any pre motor filters (at least I don't think) but you have to put water in them an I would have a hard time thinking that is safe, not only because electrics and water but bacteria growth.

That fine dust is going to get to the motor, coating the bearings which will eventually blow the motor. Nah, stick with the already goo dyson cyclone technology rather that a filterless design. Dyson may regret this.

Still, at the moment, I do prefer my bags lol. Used my Numatic George the other day to do the top fo our ceiling vans. I forgot at just how much pulling power those numatics have !

I think you might be correct Oliver. Only water filtration will work without a pre motor filter.

But even the Rainbow will get dirt passing into the motor. I've seen a video of the Rainbow being stripped down and the motor was caked in dirt!
