is there anyone that has a vintage 1950s ad for the wizard imperial canister vacuum? if so I would love too see it. Also I know there has to be at least some old wizards out there in my town still. growing up in the seventies there was a western auto store in town that had been in business for years. so there must be some old wizards in basements and garages that haven't been seen in years. thanks Bill

Wizard ads ?

Not sure you will find ads as WA seems to have relied on small catalogs mailed to everyone near a store possibly 2-4 times a year.As I recall they were not full color but in green or blue tone print. The stores seem to have had good downtown locations in smaller towns. The catalogs had everything from toys to lawnmowers. They were more of a throw away than the BIG Sears,Penneys, etc.I have seen maybe 2 in the last 10 years of flea mkts & antique malls.
(I think I still have various Wizard bags in green packages.Hoping to spend time in attic sorting soon.)

Wizard Imperial

I picked up a Wizard Imperial at a yard sale today. I think it's complete, and is in its original ottoman style box. I'd like to sell it, but I know very little about it.

can we see a pic?

Hey Josiethings, the wizards seem to be in very short supply. I just bought a wizard imperial from the gentlemen that owns the vacuumcleaner museum. where I live in the bigwoods of Appalachia we had a western auto in town for the better part of 60 years and I am yet to ever see a wizard vacuumcleaner. I know there has to be a few left because some folks around here never left town for anything in the old days when you could buy everything you needed a few miles to town. I would love to see a picture of the machine if you can do it. thanks Bill

Wizard

Great vacuum(made by Eureka, their best of mid to late 50s)and great color.Storage hassock is sometimes found but the paper is more rare.On 9 the extra rug nozzle is Universal. On 11 the hose is for Shop Vac.On 12 the hose is replaced on original ends.Good hose that will work well.Great find that that should find a new home if you are selling.
(I wonder where they got the words 'easy' and 'roll' to describe a vacuum?!?)

Thanks for the info. I am looking to sell. I just bought it because it was cool, and I didn't want it to go to the trash. It was an estate sale, and the sellers didn't seem to realize that people collect vacuums.
