Do you iron?????

I don't iron (often), but.....................

My partner irons everything, literally everything. He loves ironing, but never uses steam. His iron is an ancient Morphy Richards thing from the 1960's. When we see them at car boot sales we invaribly buy just to keep a spare. Happily the dryer will stop at exactly the right level of dryness. When hanging outside on the line he is to be seen dancing up and down picking in at just the right moment.

However when he had his Carple Tunnel done I had to take over. Deeply fell out with the iron so bought a steam generator. Now on the rare occasions I iron it takes me half the time to do the ironing. I also use a steam press for flat ware and sheets as it is portable and quick. Would love a Miele rotary iron, but can't afford one.

Well, I'm just a young guy, but my Grandmother taught me to iron, so I iron everything, and I can always hear her screaming at me in the back of my mind if I even think of not ironing. I have been taught well I guess you could say.

Rotary Iron's

Philip; Have a look on e-bay you often see them going cheap Miele's very good but the Phaff steam rotary is even better as the roller is open at both ends. I used mine last night and I can iron 4 sets of bedding in about an hour

OMG I would have that Miele. I first saw one at an Ideal Home Exhibition many years ago and it was love at first sight!! I have a very old iron but it's been so reliable and though I hate the colour, I bought it off EBAY UK years ago and couldn't be anymore feminine if it tried; Breville Diva IR21

Though raised with Sunbeam, Tefal, Rowenta and Hoover irons in my childhood upbringing, I personally found Philips irons to be one of the best even though I'm not keen on their ceramic/non-stick coated plates. The one I bought from EBAY is a Breville and it has surpassed my expectations from this brand. At the time it came to the market with a high power element, stainless steel sole plate and vertical ironing (so handy for curtains!) which is exactly what I required for work shirts and a quick steam/shot in the mornings before work. Its getting on a bit now, but it still performs and its a breeze to clean out once in a while too.

Yesterday

I ironed 3 set of bedding last night on the Pfaff and it only took me 2 hours, Im now thinking about buying a steam press again to iron jeans and polo shirts anyone recommend a good make ? Its years since I had one The singer looks good as the bed is a little bigger than some on the UK market.
