I think that was an original Electrolux part, but I'm not 100% on that.

Discovery with sidekick
Good pictures above that show how the Sidekick was first used on Discovery uprights.The genuine kit was in a flat rectangular box and included the outlet with switch as above,the hose cord with straps(best installed with a 'button hook'tool) and a hose end with notches on the metal end to screw on the standard vinyl hose in place of the all plastic hose end in the attachment kits at that time.The plug-in power cord was removed(slightly difficult as it had locking tabs),2 screws removed,new SK outlet assembly added,2 screws replaced,power cord plugged into new assy.The electric hose with built in cord and pigtail came later.As the SK became more popular all uprights included the built in outlet.

Thanks, Myles & Jimmy. I wonder if the part was made in the lighter sand color to match the Discovery Advantage?
And, speaking of upgrades, here is the onboard hose/wand caddy that is also currently listed on eBay. I'm wondering if the upholstery tool/dusting brush could be stored on the front of the hose holder, and if the metal piece is a carrying handle.

Attachment caddy
This type caddy was first on the Prolux as a way to have onboard tools.The 2 piece part in plastic bag goes on handle above upper cord hook with the hooks facing to the rear for the cord and to hold hose in the middle with ends hanging down.The front has the same type clips as a 2100/LE blower cover for above floor tool and short crevice tool.The bigger part fastens at the rear with longer screw(included).The outer curved slots hold the plastic wands with the inner portion holding hose in place with the rotating strip keeping in place.The wire clips into the lower cord wrap and holds the ends of the hanging hose(either shorter stretch hose or standard hose shortened by 2 feet).

My Discovery Plus has the onboard tool holders. I think that's what the 'Plus' is for in the name. There's a separate one on the front for the upholstery/dusting brush and crevice tool in addition the hose and wand bracket on the back. While the brackets are very convenient for storing the tools when not in use, the whole thing becomes terribly ungainly when trying to use it fully loaded. At the very least, I have to remove the hose but sometimes I've taken the wands off as well. The two tools on the front are fine as they don't have enough combined mass to unbalance the machine.

I'm thinking that many do not know about the combo tool and crevice nozzle holders, as I've never seen any stored on them, but I have seen hoses and wands stored.
I'd wondered why Aerus no longer makes the onboard caddy; now I know that it's because of the balance issue.

Crevice/combo tool holder
One other little oddity about the crevice/combo tool holder, at least as it's mounted on my Discovery Plus, is there is not sufficient clearance between the holder and the top of the tank for a standard Electrolux crevice tool to fit. The one I have for my 1205 is about an inch too long. Elextrolux made a short version, about five inches long, to fit this application. I first fitted a generic crevice tool that was about nine inches long onto the holder but the bottom end partially obstructed access to the hose port.
One other little oddity about the crevice/combo tool holder, at least as it's mounted on my Discovery Plus, is there is not sufficient clearance between the holder and the top of the tank for a standard Electrolux crevice tool to fit. The 12" (or whatever the longer tool is) was called a "narrow space cleaner" until around the time Consolidated Foods bought the AB Electrolux and Wenner-Gren Foundation shares--then it was named "crevice tool" (albeit "narrow space cleaner" was used occasionally afterward).
The 5" tool was called a "crevice nozzle". What I like about it is that it can be stored in the upholstery tool/dusting brush or in the onboard clip of the tank cleaners.

I eventually got one of the short crevice nozzles to go with it.
