Hello, I'm new to vacuum land, I have a small collection of three 1920s Hoover vacuum cleaners. I have one 1929 Model 575 upright and two model 700 Hoover's, one's restored and used primarily, the other is awaiting restoration.
In 1998, I was introduced to vintage or antique cleaners, a friend at the time demonstrated how well they work on his area rugs and I was amazed how well designed they were. His excitement for them rubbed off and I had to have one for my self! I'm a bit of a 1920s-1940s life style nut, I collect fans, toasters, irons, records and lamps from those periods... As well as clothing of those eras. I also own a 1940 Dodge four door sedan and my wife and I love antiques. So, you could say we were born too late.
But, I have a few friends who collect appliances and we all enjoy talking about the unique interests we have in people's past appliances.
Here's a photo of my restored model 700. I'm so proud of this machine, it's the only vacuum I use!
Looking forward to chatting about Hoover, learning more about them.
Thanks!
