WTB an early working stator for a straight suction Royal. Post a pic if you have a spare, the one I am looking for has 4 screw holes going all the way through it, in a rectangular pattern. It will not be going on a Royal, but a different vacuum that uses the same stator.

I have lots of straight suction Royal models. You would be buying the entire machine.

The last such straight-suction Royal metal upright was the model 311 Heavy Duty Commercial, which was discontinued in 1985, and the last armature it used was the 4.5 amp version (1-880001-000). However, it did use a nut (1-003015-000) and different impeller (1-311004-000) since it had no driveshaft for the belt.

Ah
The one I was looking for was 1.7 amps, or close. Not as pertinent to find now, as I took the windings from a beaten Torrington for the project vac. I'd still like to find one, but only if someone has a spare motor to one of the early Royals.

Well, it would need to go with a 1.7 amp rotor
I need one like the one shown in this video. He imported it from Canada, so it is 120 volts.
Now that I got my Brilliant working, I'm not in much of a rush for one. I need to make several parts for my Torrington anyway, that is not very high on my projects list lol

I thought this as, every single antique straight suction vac(except Eureka) I have seen taken apart, or taken apart myself has the exact same motor. Apex, Thor, Torrington, Brilliant, the early Royal in the video, and I know there are more. Even the rotors look the same, with the exception of how the end is made to fit the fan. It seems the other difference is how the brushes are mounted. This plus knowing that the Torrington/Thor motor works in the Brilliant, it was educated guesswork. There is a good chance I am wrong about the Royal, but seeing as how there is very little info on these early vacs, there aren't many ways to go about it. Anything to avoid the $$$ rewinding charge for the original coils from the Brilliant lol

Idk but if 3 different companies use the same field it's highly likely they bought coils the cheapest way possible. They got parts the same place as royal I'm saying it's likely going to fit.
