Deciding between Miele C3 cat and dog, Sebo Felix and Sebo E3 Premium

So I have a conundrum. My elderly mother with a bad back has had a life of terrible unreliable vaccums. I decided to help her find one that will make her life easy again, but here in the UK it's proving difficult.

For a small home with equal parts carpet and wood, she needs something that will effectively deal with long hair (pets and humans alike), and ideally one that is easy to maintain.

My list has narrowed down to three:

C3 Cat and Dog (900w,they don't sell the electric power head here in the UK so it's close to a fortune to buy that separately

Sebo Felix (identical in price to the c3). I've heard it's heavy, the pipe seems kind of useless due to the design so seems to be a pain for doing anything that isn't the floor, but I've heard so many good things about the electric head.

Sebo e3 premium, seems like a perfect mix of the two above, however it's also £100+ more cost wise.

So there it is. What do i do in this situation? The C3 seems better thought out, more user friendly but if the sebos trump it, is the e3 worth the extra cash over the felix?

Hi there I too am in the UK so understand the difficulty of trying to find an electric power headed cylinder vacuum. So being the collector that I am I have a Miele cat and dog its got a 2300 watt motor and is superb at picking up any hair with the turbine head that came with it. I have never bought the original bags as I changed it every week due to 3 dogs a cat and a wookie... The wookie refers to my rather large hairy husband lol
I also have that I use daily a Sebo X4 pet upright and a Sebo K1 cylinder now even though they are meant to have different bags you can use the same bag in both vacuums makes life that bit easier and cheaper...

I digress I would suggest you find a good used K1 with all heads with it or a Used Miele cat and dog its much cheaper than a K3 Sebo with same head as the Felix but is a cylinder not an upright.

Hi Moe,

I would recommend the Miele C2 Compact Cat & Dog. Curry’s currently have it on offer at £189 with £20 off if you trade in your old vacuum - see below link. It offers the same features of the C3 but in a smaller, light weight machine. The turbo brush does a great job on carpets too.

Our US friends will tell you that the power nozzle models are essential but fail to realise how scarce power nozzle cleaners are in the UK. Personally I’ve found power nozzle models with their heavier electric hoses to be more of a hindrance. If lightweight is a must, look at the turbo brush models. They’ll be fine for your mothers needs.

In addition, none of the UK Miele’s have a power nozzle port so even if you buy one, they won’t be compatible.

The Sebo Felix is a great vacuum but very top heavy. My own mother had to get rid of hers as it was too too heavy and impacted the arthritis that she has in her wrist snd thumbs.

The E3 premium is a great vacuum with a power nozzle BUT the wand and handle grip are heavy and the hose, being an electric hose, is also considerably heavier than a standard cylinder. Hence I would go for a turbo brush model and the C2 Compact seems to meet your criteria.
