Crappy Eureka Gets Smashed

NOT SO FAST THERE!

This forum is about discussing and the preservation about vacuum cleaners, not destroying them! It really is inappropriate for me seeing vacuums get destroyed (Especially good vacuums). I remember seeing a thread similar to this a few years ago but the webmaster either closed or removed the thread because it's not aloud here on Vacuumland.

Oh Sorry...

I'm new here. But you can guarantee that you would never see me trashing a Kirby! I didn't have the bin for it and it smelled like a combo of wet dog and cigarette smoke. Everything was so nasty and caked on that it couldn't be saved. Thee motor was unhealthy and the fan was caked with hair and crud. The hose was ripped and it didn't have a cord. I smashed it for scrap, and I parted what could be saved and cleaned, which wasn't much. And think about it, would you have kept this machine? I trashed it to make way for better vacuums (e.g. Kirby, Electrolux and older Eurekas and Hoovers.) To sum it up, my local vac shops didn't want it, eBay didn't want it and I didn't want it. I would spend money on a new fan for my Heritage II rather than a bin for this piece of junk. It wasn't worth my time, money and space. I'm sorry that I broke one of the rules and will swear by my name to not make the same mistake.

Lighten up

Seriously? They are vacuums, not friends or relatives. It was junk, get a grip. It's nobody's business what anyone does with their vacuums.

Trash find-if its a vacuum like the one that got smashed-I leave it on the curb and let the trash truck compactor "smash it"The end result of that Eureka looked like the truck compactor got to it.I did take a few vacuums like that to the plinking range for target practice. They were machines beyond help.
