I found this on craigslist I was wondering if anyone knew about? It seems fairly new but I was not aware eureka Made cannisters any longer. I went on a wild goose chase for bags and finally found them at my vac store. I even baffled him over it. The vac says it was made in switzerland and has a wierd shape to it.

They are soo easy to maintain glow plugs are cheap and easy to reinstall and repair. You will never go back once you have one. Mine is tuned perfectly and has amazing get up and go.

Wow, they sure have added style to the diesel.
The old ones were wort of like Volvo's
Don't get me wrong I love Volvos
Have an old one myself
but they don't win many awards for looks!

The Eureka...

is from the early 90's, maybe about 1994 or so? It was made by AB Electrolux in Sweden.
That was Eureka's TOL canister, but not very well made or durable. Hang on to that, as it may be a long time before you see another.

thanks

it has great suction but the hose is a bit generic. Its at moms now so she can play with it. She uses an oreck normally. This would be for under furniture and cleaning her car.

I do remember seeing these Excalibur Canisters in the JC Penney Catalog in the early to mid 1990's They Also made an upright Excalibur also that had a very slim base. I wanted one of the uprights for christmas but never got one, they didn't sell many eureka excaliburs in either upright or canister. I haven't seen one anywhere except in the catalog when they were new, I don't thik they were very popular.

I have an Excalibur upright they are pretty heavy machines and they are supposed to be quiet kleen but they seem to be pretty noisy. however they do take the same belt as the F&G upright and do have quite ome power. I love it and it seems to clean my rugs really nicely

Volvo diesels.

I love my boxy old Volvo 240. The ergonomics are the best and the viability is superb. Volvo did have 2 really bad engines back in the 70s and 80s however.
The 260 and 760 non-Turbos used a V6 which was total junk. It was also used in the DeLorean. This engine was developed by Puegot, Renault, and Volvo and was called the PRV-6. Just pure junk.
The other bad engine was the Volvo Diesel (the D24 engine). It was an inline 6 cylinder diesel Volkswagen engine. It was used in all Volvo diesels sold in North America and was also junk. The Mercedes diesels were much better.

I'll stick with my 4 cylinder gas B230F Volvo engine,
Dave

Interesting Eureka by the way. How does it compare to their present products?

my 240

I have a 240 86 wagon the dl (dont got leather) I love it I have 340 k on it and runs amazingly well no problems ever other than a cable going to the pc under the hood that got loose causing me to put out 1700 dollars because my mechanic screwed me. If your volvo ever stalls check this cable first a screw driver in the switch to hold it in place was a great fix. I bought it when I lived in tappahannock from a guy in maryland. My ex bought a s70 after we seperated boy was that a peice of junk he sold it and whent back to 240 and 740 lol.

Eureka. this is a nice strong vacuum great suction but just kind of cheap. The hose is like the hose from a magic blue.

The uprights are great machines. I got one for my aunt from a used vacuum pile. She was running a hoover bagless at the time. THe first day she used it she filled up the whole bag. She really likes it. It has automatic tool conversion. Bag full signal and also two speeds and a barefloor setting which turns off the brush. SHe loves it. And to think it was only 3 bucks. LOL

Ah the trusty old Volvo's. I had a then new 82 240GL 4cyl. It was a wonderful car and I drove it for almost 12 years and put about 200k miles on it if not more. I sold it to my niece who drove it around Edmonton, then they were transferred cross country to the east coast and drove it there, a couple more years and they were transferred back to the west coast and drove it back, then back to Edmonton and it just kept on going and going and going. She only sold it about 5 years ago and apparently it's still on the road up in Edmonton Alberta somewhere. One thing I can say, there aren't many cars that could keep up with it on the twisty hairpin mountain curves and they turn on a dime. The easiest car in the world to make a U turn on a narrow street, tighter than the then Honda Civic.

i had an excalibur upright but sold it. it was built like a boulder, very tough, but loud. i loved it cause it had the option 2 turn the brushroll off. i acually found an excalibur canister @ a rummage this pass summer 4 $15. came with lots of bags. the motor is almost dead in the head though. its ok but doesnt hav the best filtration. maybe thats because i hav the low-filt. bags from when i bought it. i acually then saw 1 on ebay a few weeks ago and it was maroon and went 4 $15 too. also, my excalibur canister is black and the upright was green. very cool lookin!!!
