dysonman do U have a 'NO MASK NO SERVICE' sign on the door at your vac shop?

Several places are being forced to shut down for 24 hrs if businesses don't comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines (at least in Ohio)

There are mask mandate signs everywhere near me.

Truly, IF everyone wore them in the beginning, the virus would have been under control, shrunken by now.
Last week the White House tree arrived. Everyone was wearing a mask, except "Melania". All of the partygoers who will not wear a mask "Nobody tells ME what to do" can be thanked.
Luckily, Dr. Fauci has been retained, vaccines are on the way. Can't we think of others? Do the right thing. So, we can all be here NEXT year.
My class was the last class on campus until at least January. We're all home.

I wear my mask whenever a customer comes in the store. I had dozens of masks made and printed by ChicagoMike (here on VL) for the Collectors Convention this last September. They advertise my store. However, when someone comes in without a mask trying to give me money, I don't turn it down. Sorry, not rich enough to turn down money. My mask is on me, and my Rainbow 75th Anniversary Model is running with germicide in the water the entire time. There's so much dissolved germicide in the air in the store it smells like a hospital in here.

We are back on lockdown here again, too many stupid you can't tell me what to do people! Everywhere! The signs are up on the doors but folks still shop without. Nobody here enforces anything, so.... Yeah, keep safe folks

They are starting to enforce masks

now everywhere. The signs have been up since April. NOW, people are being fined, businesses are being cited/fined/ even closed for 'non-compliance'.
I've even heard store workers aske people to 'please put your mask OVER you nose".
Some people just won't listen. A few, on their deathbeds, said, "I guess it WAS serious". Others STILL said, "nope".
we cannot be responsible for other people's action. But, sometimes, sadly, we have to pay for them.

People can stand far away from me. I did that way before Covid. Thank goodness I have a 12 foot front counter. They can stand 12 feet away and ask for their rubber bands and trash bags for their kirby 5.

It's hitting closer and closer to home. A family friend of many years died a couple of weeks ago. Two other friends had it but have recovered. And these are just the ones I know about; I'm pretty sure there have been more.

I got into it with a friend of mines boyfriend. He was a jerk in elementary school and not much as changed all these years later. He posted pictures of him walking around in the store with no mask because it was "his God given right." We went around for a few minutes and it kept going back to it being his "God given right" to not wear a mask. So I told him yes it was indeed his "God given right" to not wear his mask. But if he was carrying the virus and gave it to me and I got sick from it then it was my "God given right" to sue him and squeeze him for every penny he had for making me sick.

People see where this road goes. It's not hard, you should, too. Lockdowns and restrictions in the name of covid are tyrannical. Straight out of a dystopia like 1984. In certain countries, they track where you go. The gov't actually knows where you are at any given moment, in the name of covid. In China, they will imprison you in your own home (if not actual prison) at their will.

Freedom is a god given right. However, it's not always free. Hence the motto: live free or die. This holds true now more than ever.

'Oh but people will die' is not a valid excuse to roll over and let your government rule every inch of your life, I'm afraid. Choices like this are not easy.

While you may not agree (why wouldn't you?), you should at least be able to respect the point of view.

I've lost 3 significant people since March.

I've been wearing mask since it was first appointed in March and haven't been sick.

I will probably never go back to NOT wearing a mask in public. It's just such a good idea. The Japanese have been doing it long before Covid.

I started using Nitrile gloves and wish I found them years ago. Yes, I was using the standard rubber gloves before for washing dishes mainly. Now I'm using both types of gloves and for a variety of things.

I use the nitrile gloves for washing dishes, brushing teeth, when working in the garden, and when handling other dirty things. I use the other gloves when washing my face, hair, and handling laundry.
I've even made a convenient rack for hanging the clean re-usable gloves so they can dry between uses.

I also got a 2 temperature toilet bidet seat and was pleasantly surprised.

I'm cleaner than ever.

I look down on people not wearing a mask around other people. It's so completely rude and inconsiderate. Of course having failed leadership in the U.S. until recently, didn't help these people.

They truly are the diseased, degenerate, covid infected republicans. literally.
Forget about Unity, I want them segregated out from the vast majority of decent people here in the U.S. You know, the ones who don't try and over throw a presidential election, get themselves on the FBI terrorist lists, and are put on NO-Fly lists.

Oh, and the favorite thing right now. I discovered about 3 weeks ago, but apparently it has been a thing for a couple years now: KARENs. LOL.

OMG. All the vids of karens/carens getting trounced and pounded for their racists, self-centered, inconsiderate, unacceptable behavior. I love it. LOL.
There are entire Youtube channels dedicated to outing karens.

I'm so sick of wearing masks. But like the war, I feel like this is probably going to drag on for years now... I wish it would be like the Spanish Flu and just go away after 2 years max, but it doesn't look like it's going to. And amazingly during Spanish Flu they didn't even shut everything down. The NY Philharmonic was playing aside from a month or so. Masks? A month at most. Amazing.

I've already had Covid, what I had last year was worse, so I'm not particularly worried about it myself. Different people have different outcomes...

karen

A crazy caren who called 911 for someone sitting in their own car, in front of their own home.

There is even legislation being put through in SanFrancisco called the "Caren Act" that will punish people who frivolously use 911 services for racist objectives.
I love it.

So much to feel good about. The world is moving in the right direction.

Covid Deaths

The numbers keep getting away from me.

As of today in the U.S. about 460,000 have died due to Covid since March 2020. That's several cities worth of people.

Just over whelming.

UK Karen

Of course Carens aren't limited to the U.S. (nor are they always older white women)

Karen leaves stranded workers on a roof by stealing their ladder. lol call the coppas ! LOL

We need a vaccine to treat karen-itis.

Thank you for that. I never really thought of myself as a germophobe. Though I'm not afraid of germs I just like keeping things relatively clean. But I will happily take the germophobe title.

What about YOU? Have you made ANY constructive improvements to your life in the last 11 months?

Or are you quietly hiding out fearing that the FBI will be knocking on your door any day now after matching your face with social media posts made Jan 6th inside the Capitol building?

From above:

"Straight out of a dystopia like 1984. In certain countries, they track where you go."

Yes, THEY, the big bad THEY do track all of us. If you have a cel phone or other portable device for example you can be tracked down to the square foot of where you are at any given time, so I've heard. Then there is the Internet service at home. Plus school records, SS records, drivers records, criminal records, all of ones social media posts....... it's BAD. They are coming......

maybe to help you

but some people believe.....THEY'RE gonna GET YOU ! BOOOO!

"....The gov't actually knows where you are at any given moment...."

The big bad "government" may well know lots of information about millions of people but unless your screwing shit up (like trying to hurt others or say causing an INSURRECTION) or are in need of help,

they really could care less.

"Freedom is a god given right" Freedom is a vague and general concept.

"However, it's not always free." No, everything decision we make, even indecision, has consequences.

"Hence the motto: live free or die." Another vague phrase.

".... roll over and let your government rule every inch of your life..." Again with a vague concept. The "government" is not interested in running anyones life.

"While you may not agree (why wouldn't you?), you should at least be able to respect the point of view."

I respect that part of being a human is to want some independence and that there are people who pursue that concept politically because it's their strong attribute. Even when there is no need or desire for a change to habits, there are people willing to upset society.

People are very interdependent and social creatures even those of us whom don't want people directly in our lives.

gregvacs28

ive seen that video of that lady having ago at those builders on youtube
at the end of the video she takes the ladders

It's like she's oblivious to the fact she's been recorded and the police were on their way.
As it says in the vid, it would have been nice to see how this incident concluded.

You're from the UK, what do you think? Would the woman have been cited or arrested for theft and endangerment?

gregvacs28

I dont know if she would get arrested, she might get told off by the police but at the end of the video one of the builders goes over to her house and gets the ladders back.

Maybe you saw a different version of the video but in the vid. above there is no ending.

The guys are left stranded on the roof. Even the narrator admits there is no ending.

Is being "told off" in the UK akin to a warning? Would it be a written warning?

We have written warnings in the U.S. where an officer/constable writes up a ticket that states what he/she has been warned about and it goes on record. That way if a person racks up a number of warnings they won't get off so easy in the future.

I guess we'll never know.

Maybe the fire service came out or the guys found a way inside an upper floor window.

Nobody took my latter

while I was up on my neighbors roof working on their cooler, the wind kicked up and a gust blew my latter to the ground. Not a good feeling realizing that the home owners were at work and I didn't have my cell phone on me. My bad. After pacing the roof for about 15 minutes and needing to use the bathroom badly, I opted for doing a hang and drop on the side where the lawn was. Glad it was a one story home, could have been a lot worse.
