I was going through my normal thrift store today, when I found yet another orange bagged unit.

But it wasn't normal!

It was a Comvac 1600.

I didn't buy it, but quite a unique machine.

those things ALWAYS seem to be missing the belt caps. i got a comvac 1300 like that at a thrift store. and you WILL regret not buying it. mark my word...

I have enough money, but I just don't really care for these Comvacs.

While I want one, this one is just not the one for me.

However, if I can get it for 50% off, then I'll buy it. However, I'm running out of room to put these. Buying my Royal was a huge mistake, and I feel that this Comvac will turn into that.

I have two of these I was able to buy them new-the one pictured doesn't look too bad-you just hope it was used with the paper bags-if not as one other poster says-the bag could be pretty rude. The missing belt cap is sort of weird.

Don't have any means of scanning or uploading it.The manual was very basic--like only a few pages.I bought 2 from someone on here that advertised them a few years ago.The handle stickers came off from storage-had to reglue them. The belts were stale-had to get replacements from the vac place here. The machines work really well.I use paper bags inside the cloth bag to keep it clean.Don't wnat to use the cloth bag as a dump bag-mentioned in the breif booklet.A paper bag came with the machine-along with a metal belt lifter tool. The front belt cap is removable just like a Royal-same with belt changes. The machine has a plastic fan.No mini or sani emptor.Like this better-seems like the machine is more efficient.

don't WALK,

But RUN back and make room for that rare piece of Kirby history! ComVacs are far and few, at $20 this is a steal!

If I walked into that thrift store and saw that 1600, I wouldn't let it out my arms until it was safe at home with me, the 1600 is a dream machine for me!

For 20 bucks--I would have bought it, too.I am sure the vac places junk box would yeild a belt cap so the machine could be used-and a replacement rollerbrush and belt. You would hope the fan is OK-otherwise replace that,too-and maybe with a metal fan if you could find one.All in all the 1600 is a basic, but very sturdy no frills vacuum.Too bad Kirby didn't offer these to customers as a deal closer or second-upstairs,cabin vac.Vacuums are sort of rare in the swap shops here-its a mystery-if you do find them-its worn out plasti-bagless vacuums.

ultralux88, it's at Unique Thrift store at 8657 Sheridan Blvd, Arvada, CO 80003.

Go get it please! I don't want it, but I don't want someone to pick it up thinking it's a Kirby, then being disappointed when it doesn't work right.
