Comercial kirbys

Ive heard so much about these wonderfull commercial kirby and scott fetzer machines and they seem great. can we have some pictures posted of some please? as they are one of my favourite types of vacuums.

Commercial Kirby

The one I have is called the "Janitronic" which I assume means Sanitronic for janitorial use. It is a basic Kirby with a wider nozzle. It is great for cleaning hotel lobbies, meeting rooms, long hallways and whatnot. It is not designed for household use however.

I love kirbys in general and own 3, a heritage with all the attachments appart from the handi butler, a tradition and a g4. the trad and the g4 cost £30 each and the heritage cost £35 as it had the attachments. I have allways been facinated with kirbys ever since my first (the tradition) I can remember lugging it around hoplessly trying to get the carpets clean but of course at the tender age of 5, pushing a big shiney vacuum around the carpet was such a high, it made no odds to me weather it was hard or not! lol. As I have mentioned in the past, I spent around 3 years watching this site and I had allways been mesmorised by your wonderfull collection of kirbys, constantly looking at your photos, you should be proud!

James, you have a very -b e a u t i f u l- collection & display of your Kirbys.

Most of them seem (L@@K) to be in primarily original restored condition. wtg -->> woohoo

Someday it would be nice to see/view them in person. (One of the best collections I've seen in 25+ years in the business. I wish now, that I'd have saved some more of the old Kirbys thru the years! Good ole-fashioned hindsight. LOL)

Again, congrats on a nice collection.

That is the most BEAUTIFUL! xmas display Ive seen all month!(Well, appart from my xmas tree!) to answer your question(s) I am 13 years young and got my first kirby when I was 5. The next kirby I am on the look out for is a dual sanitronic 80 or a 500 series

James, in the first photo, I didn't realize that was garland! I thought those machines were just that sparkly!!!! You've got a great display. The second photo shows off the machines very well, and while not so fuzzy, the machines are still very sparkly!!!

Charlie I didn't realise you was so young. Did your parents buy you your first kirby?

Did they own a Kirby B4 U got it?

Maybe one do you will be able to get to see my kirby's in person.

I'm not sure why the pics turned out fuzzy??
I used the same camrea I always use.

They are sparkly but have to dust them regular ;o)
If I had a bigger room I'd have them all on display.

The first time I saw them lined up in order as they are now, I enjoyed seeing them all on display.

It will be nice to see them ALL together on display at the some time one day hopefully )

That's a great way to store them when one has so many and so little room! This may seem like a really dumb question, but where and how do your store the handles? I will assume you also store the cords wrapped neatly on the handles? Do you have them numbered and matched to the machine to which they belong?

My friend, perhaps you've given me the answer to an old problem....Where the hell else can I store these damn things I love so much! LOL!!

I have a really cool
Kirby Com-vac 1600 that is a heritage with the wide nozzle and the orange bag, but the bag is a lot bigger and can be used with either a dump or heritage paper bags. It has a handel realese and the switch is moved up to the top of the handel on the front of it so you can turn it off with your thumb. It's kind of a stupid vacuum but I love it anyway. The head does not come off and it's not a shinny chrome. It's painted gun metal grey. I will have to get a picture of it soon.

Thanks for your compleament. Yes I keep the handles in a built in wordrobe/Closet. Along with my other kirby's/scott fetzer machines. But keep all the boxes and attachment etc in the spare room at my dads house.

Hello James,

The only model I had ORIGINALLY saved, were a few Sanitronic VIIs that were in relatively good condition, as I had grown up with this model. (We had the whole entourage.) Then I came across a Dual Sanitronic 80 in good condition also. These were then just stored, 'for a rainy day' project. Years past, then...

NEXT was the upcoming 25 years in the business anniversary ('09); so, I thought it would be a nice idea to put together a collection of all the 'Kirby' related models. The rest is history. (So far, I don't feel I need to join "VA".) * see bottom

I figure the trickier part will be the acquiring of all the models; so at present the restorations are not on the front burner, so to speak.

Now I have 23 of the different models, (in various conditons, new to 'well-used' --LOL), at present to be restored out of a total of 35 ± total machines owned. They range from the 505 to the Sentria.

Hopefully I find that dog-gone 'magic wand'; then they may be ready for display, sooner rather than later.

Anyway, enough about me & mine, CONGRATS again to you James. They do L@@K Gr8!!!

That was one of the first things I noticed is that you have them in order. The "Rs" must be hiding in the closet. LOL

I hope to get back to your beautiful country again, maybe the opportunity to see your collection in person would present itself?!?!?!?

Ps: MANY of you, (VCCC 'dues members', as well as 'forum ONLY' members), also have some very nice or beautiful collections that I have seen of other brands of vacuums; however no offense, my TRUE admiration is for Kirbys & their loyalty to quality (...so far anyway--LOL).
