Cloth Hose ID Anyone?

Here is an odd vac hose I recently picked up. Nice (but stained) cloth fabric with an extra large push and twist machine end, and a gray plastic wand end. There was also a matching plastic wand with it.

Anyone recognize this one?

Now that's a 'cobbled-together out of bits and pieces' hose if I ever saw one!  The plastic pieces have nothing to do with the hose.  They were somebody's "in a pinch" solution.  I recognize that metal coupling though, but for the life of me at the moment I can't remember the name of the vacuum cleaner it goes with.  UGH!

Nope, it's a larger diameter than a compact coupler which has the angled lock slot cut out. This one is pressed into the knurled ferrule...

Say that 5 times. LOL

I Could Be Dead Wrong, But- - - - - -

[COLOR=#000080; font-size: medium]That appears to be the coupler for the older late model GE uprights, early 50's models, although it also worked on the late 40's models as well.  The earlier coupler had a detention latch, but not on the later one.  It simply twisted into the machine.  If you have the full set and want to sell it, let me know.  Thanks[/COLOR]

Full Set?

It has a neat wooden floor tool in almost perfect condition, and a plastic upholstery nozzle that I think is a match as well as they are both the same color as the wand.

I have no idea what the original set consisted of.

You have two of the pieces.......the upholstery attachment would have had a slide on brush as well, the dusting brush was rubber and probably disintegrated, and the crevice tool, [not the one in GA.], was the ususal fibre-board and most likely fell apart, too.  Can't forget that multi-talented sprayer, too!

Here are the two attachments I think go with this wand and hose.

Mark, I'm with Dan on this. The belt lifter we found when I was over yesterday goes with this set, making sense. There is a set of GE attachments on ebay right now that matches this! Try them on the old GE you have in the basement, might be a match. I have two machines that these might fit, one GE and a Premier.

I remember someone in the family having a Kenmore upright in the early 50's. That had a vertical belt drive. Like a Royal or a Kirby. I was a modern looking upright. Long short Hood, sort of like a Hoover 28 hood. Then a wide front, where the brush roll is narrowing back to the bag and Handle. It had a head light, and
a metal plate that you removed under the headlight. For belt changes or attachment connection. The machine was very powerfull, with a gray cloth bag. Two
tone body and dark gray hood.
Now I do remember the Hose being burgandy for some reason, with 2 metal wands. floor brush, with a slide in upholstery tool, with a swivel connection. For two different brushs. Much like another Aunts Gray Kenmore Torpedo cyclinder Vac. from the late 40's also.
It could be a short set sold with the Kenmore as well. The gray color just seems
more likely to be Kenmore.
I could be completely wrong !

That floor tool is hilarious. Looks like it was built with bits from a hardware store. Was that unusual for the day, or am I just spoiled by having most of my contact with floor tools from that era be with Electrolux tools?

GE had much better floor brushes for their canisters in the 1950's - with attached metal curved wand and nice low profile....
