Here I have my CleanMax that I ordered off of Ebay recently. This is apparently made by Tacony as I was told, but it looks very Panasonic like as well. I found that peculiar, but this machine is definitely well made and good quality. See for yourself in my demonstration video! Thanks for looking.

Its a Chinese made vac which we had in the UK under budget brands Proaction and also by LG.

I owned this model for a few years. Dirt Devil & Royal in the U.S also sold them with metal straight spine and traditional handles.

Thanks that is very interesting! It's no surprise to me that this machine was underived several more brands, it has a great design. I find mine very comfortable to use.

Is it made in PRC? Usually, LG vacs are made right in their home base in South Korea. What does the rating plate on it say?

LG vacs aren't always made in South Korea - particularly models from the cheaper end of their vacuum ranges. Mine was made in China as well as a few other LG vacs I've had (all bagged ones anyway).

Put simply though the LG Slimax upright was a great buy. It lasted me a few good years before my cousin broke it. That was the main problem with this upright - whilst the external plastics are great, the sole plate on the underside isn't but it had the most wonderful way of opening up the soleplate via a single lock slider and no screws to undo.

I can see why Tacony took the opportunity to replace the brush roll. The LG one wasn't bad and it picked up well as far as I can remember.

Ya know, they're actually really nice, fairly solid vacs. My gran has that ProAction one above that Nar has posted, it's a great vac! Like Loganvac said, it's very Panasonic-esque even in operation, but it cleans well and is solid enough, especially when you consider that they only retailed for between £40 and £60, tops.

Absolutely! Needless to say, Mine includes a commercial cord, which adds to the already great quality of the machine in my opinion.

I miss the LG upright I had - it had a great fold down partition at the back to store a spare drive belt as well, not that it went through that many drive belts anyway.
