Christmas wish-list...

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Ahh that Thermax machine reminds me of the one we used to rent from the grocery store in the early 90s. Ha a bit more rounded shape tho.

I want one of these, or one of its brothers and sisters from the 80s before the Express.

Joe22:

Why do you have to even go there? We know you don't like Dyson. We get it. You've made your point more than enough times.

This is a perfectly nice, active thread... and you go and flush it down the toilet. Please try and restrain yourself in the future.

There's a video on YouTube which demonstrates it pretty well.

Hoover Celebrity

Just to let you know they are currently on clearance here for $199... if you want one let me know and I can ship it.

Hoover Australia is thre Company I work for.

Cheers

SWEET! Did anyone else wet themselves when that floor brush turned sideways?? Oh my.Was the pop up for the exhaust perhaps? How chic!

Hoover Freemotion

If you can get hold of one, I'd very strongly recommend the bagged versions over the bagless!

Their main let-down is the build-quality - the plastic is very thin and it just feels flimsy. I wouldn't trust the electronics, either. If you can put up with that (I'm sure you take excellent care of your stuff!), you'll probably like it - it's a nice design overall.

The combo dusting brush/ upholstery tool/crevice tool is useless, but the mini turbohead makes up for that. The clear powerhose is about average length and fairly lightweight, but mine tore almost completely around in the short time I owned it - it needs a strain-relief cuff where it exits the wand-handle. The pivoting floorhead is great if you live in a home like the one in the video - it's not so brilliant on carpet. Hoover haven't used it on any of their subsequent canister models, which might say something. It's a fun concept, anyway! The 'Navigator' wand handle is nice to use, as are the fingertip light-up power controls and wand-adjustment. I've never been keen on the pull-to-rewind cord set-up, though.

The pop-up filter cover is a cool visual touch... can't think of anything else to say about it!

Here's the hose damage... the clear plastic isn't strong enough to hold up well over time without additional reinforcement.

Upcoming new Kirby Model

I am going to ask Santa for a rain check at Christmas and wait until the new Kirby model comes out, which I hope will be sometime in 2011.

I generally don't buy something so new and untested, but since Santa is being so generous, I'll gladly take one as soon as they come out. I know I'll be very curious and want to test it and put it through it's paces.

Of course I'll report here in detail on my findings. LOL

I would love to have a brand new Rainbow like Ken demonstrated for us at the convention but I doubt that I have been that good!! LOL

Hmmm... If I were extra good this year, Santa would bring me

A Sebo D4 canister, a Miele S7, a Dyson Digital Slim, a Dyson City canister, and a white Riccar Radiance.

And I would have a very happy new year :)

In thinking more and more about this, I would also really enjoy a Sebo Felix. I know Corey has one and absolutely loves it... and have heard nothing but good things about them. The only bad thing I can think of is the price tag. :-/

'Onyx' would be my first choice, but 'fun' would match the house. :-)

A Certified Pile Lifter-the big heavy chromed body-with the engraved-painted "Pile Lifter" logo on it-and the huge usually blue outer bag that takes paper inserts. And it sports a Royal upright motor for suction-and a chromed 1/3 hp split phase motor to turn the GIANT drum like brushroll to deep clean carpets-before wet cleaning or shampooing-then after when the carpet is dried to relift the nap. They are BEAUTIFUL machines to see in person-but large and heavy.would love to have one with its sales demo kit-the dirtmeter that goes with it-sort of like the ones on Kirbys.

Here are mines =)

I just know that I can get two machines, one will be a Miele Medicair 5000 Plus S5281 with a turbo brush or an Accu Nova power nozzle, but this one won't be avaible for christmas so i'll have to wait a little bit.
