Christmas wish-list...

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I would like a new Rainbow. But that's way out of Santa's price range.
A new Guardsman would be nice too. With paper bag setup please.

OK, Jack.... I thought there were just two... the old Lux which is now Aerus and the Eurekalux (was that AB Electrolux)... but now I see yours and Whirlpolfs (nice btw), so I'm totally confused!

Kyle, I played with a Sebo Felix, and I didn't like it one bit! It just didn't have a good feel and was very heavy to hold... I thought I'd fall in love with it, and couldn't believe how incredibly disappointed I was with everything about it!

ONe more to my list If it hasn't been discontinued.... the entire Hoover Platinum Collection, especially the light weight bagged, but I'd really like the whole set!

For quite awhile I've been wanting a Riccar upright and a Miele Canister. I have to do my research on that... But those Riccars are built like tanks! Never seen a Miele in person though.

Dear Santa,

I have been a good boy.

I don't want any entire machine. Just several cases of those hoses on Joe from Germany's Lux ad. In various colors please.

Oh yeah, and a new bike.

1. a Hoover Windtunnel Air
2. any Miele canister
3. a new Rainbow
4. a commercial sanitaire with shake out bag
5. a Dyson dc 25
this list would ONLY apply IF money was unlimited and storage space was unlimited! both are pretty limited, so this will probably still be my wish list next year!

Mine would be the Thermax CP-3 commercial carpet steamer.
With a 3 gallon stainless steel resivor and return tanks, and built in water heater.
A very pricey several thousand dollar carpet cleaner, but well worth the money

Ahh that Thermax machine reminds me of the one we used to rent from the grocery store in the early 90s. Ha a bit more rounded shape tho.

I want one of these, or one of its brothers and sisters from the 80s before the Express.

Joe22:

Why do you have to even go there? We know you don't like Dyson. We get it. You've made your point more than enough times.

This is a perfectly nice, active thread... and you go and flush it down the toilet. Please try and restrain yourself in the future.

There's a video on YouTube which demonstrates it pretty well.

SWEET! Did anyone else wet themselves when that floor brush turned sideways?? Oh my.Was the pop up for the exhaust perhaps? How chic!

Hoover Freemotion

If you can get hold of one, I'd very strongly recommend the bagged versions over the bagless!

Their main let-down is the build-quality - the plastic is very thin and it just feels flimsy. I wouldn't trust the electronics, either. If you can put up with that (I'm sure you take excellent care of your stuff!), you'll probably like it - it's a nice design overall.

The combo dusting brush/ upholstery tool/crevice tool is useless, but the mini turbohead makes up for that. The clear powerhose is about average length and fairly lightweight, but mine tore almost completely around in the short time I owned it - it needs a strain-relief cuff where it exits the wand-handle. The pivoting floorhead is great if you live in a home like the one in the video - it's not so brilliant on carpet. Hoover haven't used it on any of their subsequent canister models, which might say something. It's a fun concept, anyway! The 'Navigator' wand handle is nice to use, as are the fingertip light-up power controls and wand-adjustment. I've never been keen on the pull-to-rewind cord set-up, though.

The pop-up filter cover is a cool visual touch... can't think of anything else to say about it!
