kirby note

Would anyone like to sell me the 2C parts I need, I'm just saying, via eBay or something. I do have the box of a complete set of attachments and pictures will come soon. Hey Jim, the guru of early Kirby's, I heard you might have some spare 2C parts that I need for my 2C, short the cord. if interested how could I buy them or trade for them? I do have a classic iii cord that will fit maybe. I'll try it out and in the mean time, I will keep the current wheels on my 2C, until I find original ones.
Thanks Liam

kirby note

Would anyone be willing to trade to me any of the 2C parts, so I may give an antique vacuum to them in return, I have 2 vacuums that I'm willing to trade out, from my collection? Would that work instead of selling the parts? What works best with you?
Thanks Liam

Ya

That's pretty crappy. You got asked what you have directly. You say you have them answering the question. You then state ypu aren't into selling them.
How dare you mentioned you have them when he insisted on knowing. Then crush his spirit by letting him know there not available when wr know he was going to ask.

Kirby parts

To be fair,in reply 9 VacMadMan does state these rare items are for "spare parts"as he or any of us has a right to do for any of our more special vacs.He does share knowledge and pictures that some of us may not have.In my case I would sell any and every Kirby & parts & attachments that I have but do not have any that old but do not ask for my last Electrolux Mo G parts.

I support you lesinutah. I thank you so much, for being by my side. Yeah, Jim could have said it in a more nice way and without making me sad, disappointed. I cry in sadness:( He could always offer those 2C parts to me in another way, if he is still interested, without selling it. I don't need to buy necessarily, I'm good, but would prefer to trade instead. If anyone is still interested in trading with me for 2C parts, please let me know, the sooner the better. I heard Tom Stephine Kirby vacuum collector and fixer, if you know him, is liquidating his entire collection. If you can get in touch with him for me, I'd appreciate it. He has some rare Kirby, Scott Fetzer machines.

side note

Will anyone be interested in trading with me the 2C parts I need for me giving them in return a Hoover baby model 103 from 1920. I also have a early 1960's hoover dial-a-matic, it's a yellow version and it has spare disposable bags, which are included. I really want to trade out these two vacuums, at least start out with one, to get the parts if possible and I'm not interested into keeping them for very long. If anyone is interested in getting a hoover baby model 103 or early 60s hoover dial-a-matic, let me know please as soon as possible.
Thanks Liam

side note

Jim the (VacMadMan), Lets be respectful to each other, ok. I have 2 vintage antique vacuums, that I really want to trade out to get my 2C parts, if you are interested. One is a 1920 Hoover Baby Model 103. It's a real nice machine but I'm not attached to it. If you like it, I'll give it to you as a trade in for my parts, for my incomplete Kirby 2C. I will not use it until I get at least the handle and the trim. I will keep the current wheels on it to make you happy, This is my deal with you. You do not need to sell them necessarily but if you want to trade with me, I would really appreciate it. God Bless:)
Thanks Liam

Nothing new

Liam,

Old Les has a history of doing this where I'm concerned. We have locked horns before again nothing new. Having said that I never offered the parts for sale, but I guess just saying I had them was way out of line here....who knew?

"Yeah, Jim could have said it in a more nice way and without making me sad, disappointed. I cry in sadness"

A more nice way???? So, from now on if you say you have the parts that someone needs you are then obligated to sell them? Do I got this right? Good Lord!

Deal

Do you really have these parts that I need. All I'm saying is would you rather like to trade these parts to me instead of selling them. I will trade with you, give you in return, a hoover baby model 103 from 1920. It's a very nice machine and it works perfectly other than a broken foot switch to cut off the power. It can easily be repaired, other than that the vacuum works fine, when I plug it in. I also have a early 1960's hoover dial-a-matic, with spare disposable bags, no issues at all. I really want to trade out these vacuums one or the other with you, your choice. So, if you want to trade your spare Kirby 2C parts with me instead of selling them directly, that would work perfect with the both of us. Not only would you be more relived with not having to sell directly for money and be happier, but I would be happier as well. If you prefer trading with me instead, that would be great, please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you, to Jim the (VacMadMan), From Liam

VacuumLand,

Some of you might remember me sending these parts to a young new member of the group who was restoring his 515. I love that model and had all the parts he needed to complete it. I sent them to him free of charge. He was thrilled and very thankful and I was happy to do it..

I did consider doing the same thing here but now after all this I'm glade I reconsidered. Good luck finding the parts you need.

"Jim could have said it in a more nice way and without making me sad, disappointed. I cry in sadness" So let's be clear never talk about parts you have that someone needs unless you are willing to sell them.... well noted. have a nice day.

side note

I won't trade with Jim the VacMadMan then, unless you decide that you want to trade your 2C parts with me, for a hoover baby model 103 from 1920 or hoover dial-a-matic from the early 60's, in return. The Choice is yours. In the mean time can anyone get in touch with Tom Stephine, the Kirby Collector and Fixer, for me? I would love to talk to him about my 2C and the parts I need to actually use it. I know he has one posted on eBay and maybe he can see if he can give, trade with me only the parts I need from his 2C, that he's selling or any other early Kirby in his liquidating collection. I will tell him that I already have a 2C but it's in desperate need of parts and I'll say what parts it needs exactly. If he's willing, I would love to trade with him or maybe he can make an offer.
Calling all other people with spare 1C or 2C parts, that might trade with me, for a big meeting.
Goodbye Jim, the VacMadMan, Have a nice day:)
From Liam

Pic

This I believe is what the handle looks like.
The holes for the screws are 1/4" hold about 1/2 inch deep.
The handle can be made. The handle in the pics if my vacuette electric.
The handle looks exactly like the one I had on my 1c.
A place like restore might have wooden railing that's an inch OD.
It's also painted black.

side note

Sorry Jim, I didn't mean to scare you, if you sill are interested and want to trade with me instead let me know in a message some time soon. To Lesinutah, Making a handle from scratch with a rounded wooden pole piece would be very hard to make. Drilling all the holes the right size and locating them for drilling in the exact spot, would be very difficult and very time consuming. I have a lot of things to do on my daily plate. So, you can always make a handle for my 2C from scratch and finish it as soon as possible, but take you time, if you have a lot of spare time in your day. If not, do you actually have all of the parts, or at least some, that I need to complete my 2C and actually use for my Kirby 2C. If you do, let me know, the sooner the better.
Thanks, Liam:)
