Central Vacuum Motor question

Hi,

I have this Central Vacuum Motor - an AMETEK LAMB Model 119708 which I do not know if it is a serviceable motor or not, the bearings are shot. I don't see a way to take it apart to replace bearings. Does anybody know? Does the whole part have to be replaced?

The motor is serviceable, however inorder to service the motor you need GENTLY to pry off the cooling fan under the brushes will be a 1/8" screw that will need to be removed, once both steps are completed the top of the motor will need to be gently preyed off with a flathead screwdriver. The bearing will then be accessible and may need to be pulled with a bearing puller.

I was able to get to the two screws under the brushes and remove them. However, I think I need to remove the bolt at the bottom (see pic 4 in my first post). Does that need to come off too?, and if so, to loosen it, do I turn it clockwise or counterclockwise? Thanks.

If you were able to take the pressed on cooling fan off you should be able to remove the bracket holding the armature in place. Once the top bracket and field coil are removed then take off the nut on the bottom pull the armature out and you should be able to access the lower bearing. Take apart the fancase GENTLY to clean the fans and then reassemble fan case with armature in place and top portion of motor reassembled. word of advise is do not press the cooling fan back on the motor until it is fully reassembled
