Very cool place based on your description. Where I live there hasn't been snow for 20 or so years. We live fairly coastal, no matter where you are in NZ you are within 100 miles of the sea.

My wife is from Shanghai. She calls our town the "bottom of the wok". When she says that I remind her that the bottom of the wok is where you find all those good tasty crunchy bits. That's where she found me
