Central Head Mission........AGAIN

Hello,
After being on Ebay a few months back seeing a Sebo Felix Head (ET-2?) go for $125 I just about flipped out. Our central Easy-Flo head is on its last limb and is horridly loud and nosiy. I was on MD Manufacturing Products and was looking @ heads. I really want the Sebo head but only one vac shop around here that carries it, I recentlly had a bad experience there after 12+ years going there. Anyway, I will link the horride head for the central I have now and the head I was eyeing up on MD Manufacturing.
If anyone has any advice please let me know seeing how expensive heads can get.

Lindhaus Power Nozzle

I have the Lindhaus 14 power nozzle. I bought mine on eBay last year for about $65 NIB including shipping. I spent an additional $35 for the wand system so i could actually use it with my VacuFlo. I like it a lot and it was certainly a steal at the price i paid, but I kind of wish I bought the Wessel Werks nozzle instead (I had a Miele Red Velvet and loved the 236 pn). The Lindhaus works well but it only has one row of brushes not two like the Wessel Werks, or most other power nozzles for that matter. It does groom the carpet nicely and it seems to be built extremely well too. The Wessel Works nozzle appears to have the same style swivel neck as the Miele 236, which i think is a more convenient and useful design than the Lindhaus style.

I would use a Eureka Power Head or better yet a Kenmore power mate I think these are the best and they last a really long time.

I Have The Stealth

With my MD system. Good, but I am not sure it is worth the money. A Hayden or Eureka would be as good for less money.

Well the Stealth Head is expensive and I was thinking for that price it should be what I was looking for(then again, price doesn't matter) and the sounds I hear of it, I'm not liking it. About the Eureka head, I have a Eureka Head on my Excalibur canister that is 10 years old and the motor is shot(it screems and was used a lot less than the central head). The main factor I am worried with is the noise level because everytime I drag that damned Easy-Flo head out, someone complains of me vacuuming. After I got looking on Ebay about the Miele 236 Power Head, I was wondering if that head would fit a 2 prong central hose. Anybody know that?

If price doesn't matter, then go for the Stealth. It is quiet and has a lot going for it. It is controlled electronically and appears to work quite well. It came with my MD unit.

236 miele head

I believe that the Miele 236 and the Wessel Werks nozzle are the same head, minus the height adjustment feature on the Miele. You may have a difficult time trying to fit a 236 power head to a wand system since your hose is standard fit and the Miele nozzle is designed exclusively for Mieles wand system and Mieles electric hose connection (not the standard button lock/ 1&1/4 inch fitting). You may want to contact Andy W. about that since he is a Miele dealer who is very knowledgeable about Miele vacuums (and a very nice guy too!) The Nutone/Cen-tec/Kenmore power nozzle has a beater bar and cleans well too. I did however have a problem with the Hayden nozzle i had, which is essentially a Kenmore nozzle. The nozzle did not lower itself down far enough for it to clean the Berber style rugs I have. (I noticed in your video you have a berber style rug too). I believe it was Andy who had mentioned to me a while back that the 12" Lindhaus nozzle uses a brush roll that has 2 rows of brushes instead of 1 row like the 14" nozzle, which might be something else to consider.

UPDATE

I e-mailed Andy and the Miele head won't work. I am leaning towards either the Wessel-Werk EBK-340 or the Lindhaus head I was already talking about.
P.S. No one better steal either head!

Wessel Werk!

Go with the Wessel Werk!

I first tried one when it was attached to a Vortech-Force machine, and was instantly in love... fast forward about 6 years, and my mom decided to upgrade her central-vac. I opted for the Wessel Werk, and was very glad I did. That powerhead would just start---and rip dirt out of her shaggy frieze carpet.

I think it's one of the best powerheads on the market... Quiet, too.

I am 99% sure that I'm going to buy the Wessel Werk head soon because my b-day is coming up so I'll treat myself to a new head!
Seeing the WW head is cheaper, I'll be able to pay all of it instead of payments(through my parents-LOL)

The first time I used a WW head was on an Oreck Dutch Teck canister vac and I thought, right, an Oreck canister that does a good jog. HA!!! Well I fell in love with that head. The canister was great too if you want to drop $800.00 on it, but that head was the best I have EVER seen.

Heads and tails better than the rest...

I have both the WW EBK and the Lindhaus 14" power heads for my central vac. The WW has it all over the Lindhaus. Believe Fred when he says "rips the dirt out of the carpet". The WW is very powerful and does an indredible job on the carpet. Whenever I empty the central vac I can not believe the dirt and cat hair in it. If you are starting with new or somewhat new carpet, I could see it lasting forever with the regular use of the WW head. The instant you turn it on you can feel and hear the torque of the motor as it come to life. A second or two later the headlight fires up and your ready to go.

Couple things I do notice, that I attribute to the raw power this head has are:

1) It is way too powerful for smaller throw rugs. Even with the suction control on the hose open, it still suctions to the rug and is hard to manuver on smaller bathroom like throw rugs.

2) Whenever I am done vacuuming, there is stray carpet fiber stuck to the outside of the powerhead. I attribute this to the creation of a static charge over the powerhead by the intense brushing action and it is the same intense brushing action that is loosening up dead carpet fibers and they dont all get sucked in. Its not a big deal, I just use a dusting brush to clean it off when I am done and try to avoid brushing the power head up against the hose sock when I'm vacuuming because then you would have all those carpet fibers stuck on the hose sock and then the hose sock would rub where you just vacuumed and then all the fibers would be back on the carpet where you just vacuumed them up.

No doubt, I would go with the WW.

New carpet

Our carpet is about 9 years old and the one thing I realized with the head I have now, is that when I check the collection bin on the Central, there isn't much cat hair. Also, I use my Hoover turbine tool for the smaller through rugs. I am getting pretty excited about getting this new head. I'll probably order it within the next week and a half and I'll get videos on it.
