Adorable little kitty
Does your cat liked to be vacuumed with the Kirby and hose?Spot another set up as a "canister" with its hose.Looks like the cat wants to be vacuumed since he is by the vacuum and hose.

My cat is not fond of the Kirby when I drag it out, noise? bag? but parked he will rest against it, nothing personal I guess!

I can't imagine my cat letting me vacuum her. She bolts as soon as the machine comes on, be it a Kirby or an Electrolux. She keeps a discrete distance while the machine is running, although after a minute or two she will inch a little closer to watch the proceedings but with visible tension in her body, ready to bolt the moment it starts actually coming in her direction.
All in all though, she is braver than the cat I had before her, who would run and hide the instant a vacuum cleaner was turned on and would not be seen again until an hour or so after it had been shut off.

well my cat is a girl & she will leave the room soon as the kirby gets close to her. when i'm done she wonders back in. as long as their off she is fine. she does love snuggling around them especially the hose.i have vacuumed her before but she hates it so i don't anymore.

Our cat is kind of indifferent to the vacuum but our German Shepard absolutely hates them. He tried to bite the bags so we have to watch out while we vacuum.

Shame really. Don't these animals realize they are in the presence of greatness?
If I was a cat, I would appreciate that my owner chose Kirby quality in which to lay an application in my direction LOL!
But then again, I might end up in the bag after being swallowed!

That's a cute photo of the cat!! He/ she must love the texture of the hose. I love how cats like to restrain themselves inside small areas almost like for protection! Perhaps the Kirby hose is protection! Do not cross the hose border, LOL!!

My cat isn't afraid of the vacuum, in fact he will lay on it, in front of it, ect.
I do vacuum him with the hose, but usually with a Filter Queen or Lux Guardian Platinum on low speed. I have used the Kirby and the massage cup on him; he really didn't care.
Now the dog on the other hand, she runs and hides and shes the one that could stand a good vacuuming.

Why they run? Because the NOISE is down there at their level. Think about, if it's a canister or an upright, the motor and spinning brushes are within inches of the floor. So are their ears and vacuums aren't quiet.
Try laying on the floor yourself and close your eyes, and have someone turn on a standard canister or upright vacuum a few feet from your head. Have them move it around in an unpredictable pattern. You'll understand what it's like.
I've seen videos of people with Central Vacs vacuuming their pets. And why does that work? Because the suction motor is no where near the animal.
If you don't have a central vac but have a quiet canister, if your pet is on a higher elevation away from the power unit, they probably won't be so quick to run away. In order to be a successful encounter, it has to be generally pleasurable for the animal. If their hair gets pulled, or they are hurt, they will remember that for the future.

Yeah, that one at the 2:00 minute mark was nothing but just plain mean. The cat was cornered and had no avenue of retreat. Not cool at all--abusive, really. With all the other ones in that compilation, the cat was out in the open and could walk/run away whenever it got tired of the game. I was really surprised at the white cat tolerating having its entire tail sucked into the hose.
