Hi guys,I'm writing from a Telephone on
Vacation down in lovely Clearwater,Fl,
And have a Camera question for the more
"Technically Inclined" Than I am.

Since you can only order Polaroid 600
Instant Film on-line (Something my forgetful
Self forgot to order),I brought my 35 Mil.
90's Kodak, which worked absolutely fine
After who knows HOW many years of
Sitting, without any film.

Now that film has been purchased, The
Thing does nothing! The batteries are fine,
For the flash still charges up, But when
The shutter release is triggered, nothing
Happens. The flash won't deploy, the film
Will not forward, although the "Ready"
Light is on?

It would appear the film has slightly forwarded
On the film holder thing (Whatever it is
Referred to as). I took the film back out to
Examine for a possible jammed function,
But could not find anything. The ready light
Will not return to ready when the cover is replaced,
Although I'm quite certain this is expected.
The camera will won't even function as it
Once did when the film with film removed?

Any help is greatly appreciated,I can't even
Figure out outdated technology!

Thanks,
-Alex

Go to (I think you guys call it this) big box store, and get a cheap digital camera. Anything over 8 megapixel will be fine. Will be cheaper than trying to get your camera repaired. The njust take the memory card into a photo shop and get it printed.

May need a memory card too, shouldnt cost much though

Try pressing the shutter button while the back is open with no film. If it opens the shutter completely, it should be fine. If the film won't move, there is either something wrong with the camera itself or you incorrectly loaded the film. Getting the leader to stick can take practice.  My understanding is that Kodak was a pretty low-end brand durring the 90s. You could always buy a disposable camera or find another 35mm at the Goodwill if your current one is broken. I prefer Fujifilm personally.

Did I mention I dislike technology?

For goodness sakes,I accomplish school-work on my trusty Typewriter!

I have one of those, "Digital" Things, But as John says, " It's not of my species" ;)
The only use it serves is YouTube filming!

Thankfully, It turned out that the camera is a Sears, And is also loose, Simply
Pushing it together solved the issue!

I was so excited when I heard the sound of forwarding film! Although, When
I took picture #16 of film roll #2, it acted as if the film had came to an end, And reseted
All but the film?

Oh well, I loved the thing while it lasted, and I guess 40 pictures in 2 days is not bad,
I just hope the film develops correctly!

Speaking of technology, I'm 1O words a minute on this little screen, but somewhere in the
70s in words-per-minute on that Towa Electric Typewriter ;)

Many thanks,
-Alex.

If you are looking for a replacement camera, I bought this one on Amazon a year ago and love it. Absolutely no electricity/electronics, wide-angle lens, and very inexpensive. All you need is some 400ISO film and you are ready to go! One day I should shoot some Velvia with it, just for fun.

I would love to see some of your photography! Maybe in the Junior forum?
