Hi Folks!
Trying to identify a vacuum from my childhood. It belonged to our next door neighbour the earliest I can remember it was about 1972. It was an electrolux cylinder, sky blue, with white end caps, a bayonet hose coupling, z65 type handle, detachable usual cord connecter under blow hole same as z30 55 62 65 etc, shiny grey stripy hose 1 wand and white crevice white flip over tool. It was not the z80 it was lighter blue and the switch was a double see-saw type in white with grooves across. You pressed 1 side down for on and the other side down for off. Anyone recognise it for me?

Okay...

..I was thinking of the US models of that time, which would have been a model 1205 here in the states from what you described. It was after I responded that I noticed you are in the UK, so naturally, the model number and possibly other characteristics would be different. Oh well!

1205

...attached you'll find a photo of a US made 1205 of the generation your mention. There may be some similarities to the UK models as there is with other makes.
They came in three shades of metallic blue, one darker as featured, a lighter shade, more sky blue, and a medium shade, depending on the year produced. The 1205 had a long production run. to see the variations. Hope this might help a little bit. ;D
