Call me crazy but my first Kirby will be an D50 Sanitronic

Huston we have lift off

First motor is SRONG
solid
tight
Its a good one
now have to learn to get it off 7 & take it for a spin

is a bear to push
the toe control is press
it works great

bulb works
bag blows up big

I ordered the klirby belts for these older units
its got the new one on
but I think orig config is safer.

The new one has a plastic air opening ubder the light
yuck
wonder if they replaced just that or the head
belt lifter is dual sani

have to get the height right
it did a decent groom
Royal is much easier to push
but wow that motor
thats a strong solid motor
shut down good too
no noise
came to a stop nice

yippee
now got to tackle the new smelly bag

paid pfr the cord & attach

Funny about the 2 wheels they put in front
the lighted logo isn't as nice
no plastic on the bottom handle tube

some problems

We';; have to share as I cleaned it up prety good
even w fine 0000 steel wool

got roller & head drying

but tested it wo bag just used the hose & blew it out the back

a shakeout vac didn't get much use but the bag has wear & start of hole
bag is drying & looks better

think all the attach are there too
w 2 wands but upolstery brush has a slight crack but functional

Here's the new Kirby

Used the bulb from my royal
had to reshape the light as whomever installed it did a poor job
it was too close to the front & the bulb hit the belt lifter
thats why there was no bulb
also concerned as they installed aplastic air reg under there

Works good
bag came out ok
2 small holes I think
what about those hole repair patches
could one by ironed on inside just to reinforce

I'd liek to use this when I clean apts.
Mostly new rug iunstallation & no bags to buy
Don't care about the air there as there vacant units
I can toss my old hoover kenmore workhorses

Trouble with the first one was the belt wasn;t on so thats why it was hard to push & not all that good
Brush roller in that is original & nice

OOOH well I'm happy

Is baking soda bad for bags?

Sometimes I sprinkle it on the carpet
but wondering if it clogs/coats bag & fan etc?

Patch worked
its ironed inside & used it to reinforce a few weak areas
sewn the top of bag where it has loose threads

& now it's a nice lil machine

I don't think baking soda would hurt a vacuum if you don't use great lots. Of course it cuts odors quite well.

Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50 w/ Rug Renovater

Me & my Kirby, we clean up house. 1965 would mark the 1st year we are introduced to the "Rug Renovater", Carpet Shampoo System as we know it today. Kirby uses this same design to date & hasn't made any real changes to it till 26 years later in 1991 w/ the Generation series.
