Someone we all know and love recently told me he had never seen a Saniway....so here tis!!! a little history, the Vac U Way co of Toledo Ohio, was founded by a man who was a big shot with AirWay, he decided to go into the Vacuum manufacturing business big time, he already knew how to set up sales offices etc, so in 1960 he found out he could by the rights to the Kingston Canister and build it himself,the first Saniways were direct copies of the Kingston and may have been built by them,that part of the story I never got, anyway in 1964 he changed the rug tool to the one pictured here, and changed the trim, the first machines were brown, the later ones, like this were dark red, this information was from Cyrus Fox who was a AirWay branch manager in Georgia, and became the first Saniway distributor, having the whole state of North Carolina, I meant to write the names exact dates etc down, but only got to talk with Mr Fox one time before he passed away, he told me the owner of the Saniway co died in 1976,and his wife sold everything for scrap and quit, so that is what became of the Saniway.
