Buick Lesabre Failing Window Regulators.

I own a 2003 Buick Lesabre with 72,000 original miles and I'm going to be replacing the second failed window regulator. Has anyone on here ever owned or had this problem with their Lesbre ranging from 2000 to 2005? It seems to be a VERY common problem for the window regulators to fail in these vehicles. I just wonder if any of you have had the same problem. Thanks, Sean.

My Friends did that a couple years ago, I think hers was a 2001. My 2000 PA driver's went slow a few years ago. Lubed the tracks with silicone, no issues yet.

Lubed twice in 6 years. My ex roommate warned me to be careful, they were weak. I have tried to listen if they are dragging.

Friends of mine have a 2000 Lesabre and it has a broken one, the front passenger if I remember right. They haven't bothered to fix it though, the car has WELL over 200,000 miles and isn't in great shape.

I've had two replaced

I have a 2002 Lesabre. Both of the rear windows have had their regulators go out. Thankfully i found some decent generic ones from 1A auto, which have not had issues at least not yet.

I've ordered my parts from O'reilly's auto parts. I replaced the drivers side regulator a few days ago and then the passenger side went out two days later. Again I ordered a new regulator and it will be here Monday for me to install. Sure hope I don't have anymore problems with my windows after this!

Spoke to the ex roommate today, he said some of the aftermarket on those are quite good,factory around $200. He does this for a living, not thrilled with the aftermarket for the Volkswagen though.

Window Regulators

Good Morning,

I recently traded in my 2004 Cadillac DeVille (Cruella). In the last two years that I owned the car, all four of the window regulators failed at different times. Each one cost $475.00 to replace at the Cadillac dealer.
The window regulators are obviously a weak spot in the mid 2000 General Motors products.

Oh yes...

I had a 2003 DeVille. Three of the four regulators failed during its lifetime of 168000 miles.
Usually the window failed down unfortunately. Service contract picked up all repairs as the regulators failed before it hit the 100000 mile mark.

I bet they went out during winter? Cold, snow, sleet? They do not like extra drag.

I had the problem with both front windows in the 1999 Park Avenue I used to have, it didn't start until the 120K range.
Its replacement a 2000 Park Avenue has same issue with both front windows and that was from the time I got it at 80K. Both of the Park Avenues had the issue with the windows going down, but they go up smoothly

My first car a 1990 LeSabre also had a bad regulator on the front passenger window, this one went down fine but wouldn't go up properly so I always kept pliers handy to pull the window up.

One was in winter

One window failed during the winter but the window and car was clean.
The others failed during fair weather.

The cable ends tend to pull off under stress I understand, or so I have been told.
