BREAKING KIRBY NEWS!!!!!!

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

You know what I think I'll keep it a secret to myself for a little while and see if it raises my popularity around here and see if I can get some more respect from the childish people that need to grow up on here and they know who they are. :D

-Adam

P.S. You will find out EXACTLY who they are just as soon as they make they're first post in this thread too LMFAO!!!!!

Dontcha wanna be able to say 'I told you so'?

Ya can't drop a bomb like that without backing it up swiftly with more intel. It loses its teasing cuteness after an hour or two. Unless you had The Amazing Kreskin write it on a slip of paper and seal it in an envelope...
If we're not told soon and it turns out you're right, how're ya gonna prove you were right?

Geez, even Jon in Des Moines who has had his hands all over the real thing and is legally bound to secrecy was more forthcoming and credible that this.
Well, it's past midnight in Louisiana so I guess that was another BREAKING KIRBY RUMOR!!!!!

Pardon me while I hold my breath until the Official Kirby Press Release with Pictures, thanks. With luck, Kreskin is the new Kirby Spokesmodel and will reveal all at that time...

I'm just kidding I'll be the grownup and be nice to everyone because that's how I really am :D It's going to ber called: THE KIRBY AVALIER!!!!!

Mate...

I normally would keep my big Aussie mouth shut when it comes to threads like this - but I think 'awesome dave' pretty much sums it up... (well done Dave!)

I can't help but feel as though the excitement of the new Kirby is now somewhat marred with this 'thoughtlessness'.

Terrible shame that you feel it appropriate to hold us all to ransom with information like that on a strictly passive aggressive personal note aimed at certain members of the forum.

... Lost for words I am... - perhaps 'disappointing' sums it up...

I cant help but think someone popularity may have been made higher if they had just informed us without rant.

Yes my excitement which has been created watching from behind the scenes so to speak has also been marred.

Not to worry though Im sure it will be back.

As im also sure someday somewhere somebody will grow up.

Might as well have some fum and get amusement out of this.

It's Cavalier without the C.

cavalier
1589, from It. cavalliere "mounted soldier, knight," from L.L. caballarius "horseman," from L. caballus "horse, a pack horse." Sense advanced in 17c. to "knight," then "courtly gentleman," which led to adj. "disdainful" (1657). Meaning "Royalist adherent of Charles I" is from 1641.

Sheer brilliance, Jack!
Now I gotta clean all the spewed coffee off the monitor and take Q-tips to the keyboard...again...

Of course, none of this frivolity takes away from the sheer brilliance we (most of us) recognized in those Kirby patent sketches or isufan11's reports supporting our hopeful speculations.

Dave

Just a reminder where and when it all started...

I'd certainly be curious see how well all this new technology works, but I won't be handing over £2000+. I'll wait a year until they're 1/3rd of the price on eBay. I paid £275 for my Diamond G with tools/polisher/shampooer, which was only a year old...hate to think how much the original owners lost on that!!

While I strongly feel that Kirby needs to do some work, I'm concerned about what could possibly happen if this thing goes bad. The Royal Power Cast is an example of how this can happen. Royal was smart enough to keep its old and reliable model line in production, and fell back on that. With Kirby's one model only sales style, they have all their eggs in one basket. It would be a major embarrassment (not that the public really cares) to have to revert to an older model because the new one was too flawed.

I assume a company like Kirby, with a stellar reputation for reliability, will only have made the decision to launch such an ambitious machine after being totally satisfied of it's durability. Of course, in-house testing isn't 100% fail-safe, as we saw with the "tested for 20 years" (although they've been told not to make that claim any more!!) Miele S7's hose (and countless other examples throughout vacuum history where common design-faults have emerged some way into production).

I'm interested in the weight of this machine - can anyone who's had experience of it comment on that? Does it weigh less than the G-Series?

Erick, with regards to the Royal Powercast, what issues affected that model? I remember seeing pictures of them online, and they looked very interesting to me. What led to their demise?

The general complaints I've heard on the Power Cast were weight and handles snapping off. Other than that it's generally considered to be a fine machine while it lasted. I'd love to get my hands on one someday. They were selling on ebay for under $100 new before they were discontinued, but its hard to find one now, especially at a good price.

the powercast is one royal i dont have, but want. the ones that come up have probs, like stated above. the bag compartment tends to not stay shut.

it is a very COOL looking vac.

Dave, please...

Jack,

You did have to remind me of that S7 hose, didn't you!

Dave,

Please slap him for me.

Best regards,
Andrew

A little bit of a wrench in the plan

We just had plans for another vacuum come through the office and they were for a Vacuum that is styled much like a traditional Kirby with the side bag, the patent holder is Wes Alminon. I dont quite know what to think we were asked to look at the drive and the motor patents.

I have a Royal Power Cast and it is a WONDERFUL vacuum. It grooms the carpet nicely, and a very nice conveniant carry handle on the front. I use it a lot, and would strongly recommend one.

I've always wanted a Royal Powercast as well.

Man, when I opened this thread I thought it was going to tell us the release date of the new model or even have pictures. I really don't care what it's called (though I'd have preferred Atlantis over Avalier).... I care how it looks, how it works, and when I can get one!

I agree with others though... say it or don't post, drama isn't necessary!

Come on guys

Can't we get past this and unite in our excitement of the new Kirby!! Even with that name. Everyone has had that "I know something you don't know" moment and milked it.

I think we are more annoyed by the new name, Avilier. We'll get used to it. We accepted Sentria, after all.....

Chris
